Method and device for forming package bodies open at one end from package sleeves open at both ends
The invention relates to a method for forming package bodies open at one end from package sleeves open at both ends for the manufacture of filled packages. In order to allow packages with a cross section which is neither square nor rectangular to be formed more simply and reliably, the package sleeves are kept ready for further processing in a stack, folded flat along at least two folded edges running in the longitudinal direction of the package sleeve, the flat-folded package sleeves are transferred in succession from the stack to a forming station, the package sleeves are unfolded in a forming station and the unfolded package sleeves are, in the forming station, pushed onto a mandrel in order to close, in particular seal, a longitudinal end of the package sleeve.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PACKAGING OF MASS-FABRICATED CUSTOM ITEMS
A system for packaging mass-customized items includes a computer system including a database containing item identification information unique to each item; (2) outer container identification apparatus that applies the item identification information received from the database to each outer container in a plurality of outer containers; (3) inner pack identification apparatus that applies the item identification information received from the database to each inner pack in a plurality of inner packs; and (4) inner pack filling apparatus that fills each inner pack with a specific item matched to that inner pack by the item identification information received from the database. Each item is associated with its unique item identification information and is inserted into an inner pack with matching item identification information, and each outer container is presented for loading with one or more inner packs matched to that outer container by the item identification information received from the database.
PACKAGING MACHINE FOR PACKAGING PRODUCTS IN CARTONS AND METHOD FOR THIS
The invention relates to a packaging machine (100) for packaging products (O) in cartons (K), wherein the packaging machine (100) has the following: a product feed (110) for feeding products (O) to be packaged in cartons (K); a carton magazine (120) in which a plurality of preferably glued carton blanks are arranged collapsed at least substantially flat; and a preferably stationary erecting station (130) for erecting carton blanks to form at least substantially block-shaped open cartons (K), wherein the product feed (110) has an at least substantially horizontal first conveying direction, wherein the erecting station (130) is positioned next to the carton magazine (120) in an at least substantially horizontal transverse direction perpendicular to the first conveying direction, and wherein the erecting station (130) is embodied so that it is stationary at least in the horizontal transverse direction.
CASE FORMER WITH CASE-SQUARING ASSEMBLY
Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a case former configured to receive a case in a blank configuration, open the case into a tubular configuration, fold the lower minor flaps to manipulate the case into a partially closed-bottom configuration, square the case while in the partially closed-bottom configuration, and fold and tape the lower major flaps shut to manipulate the case into a closed-bottom configuration. The squaring step ensures that the case has a rectangular cross-section after taping rather than a rhomboid cross-section.
PACKAGING MACHINE FOR OPENING BAGS ON A WEB OF BAGS AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
A packaging machine includes an indexing mechanism (210), a base (220), and a clamping arrangement (250). The indexing mechanism moves a web (10) of preformed bags along a path of travel. The base (220) is downstream of the indexing mechanism (210) along the path of travel and supports an engagement member (240) that includes a finger (242) having a beveled end (244). The clamping arrangement (250) supports a gripper (271) that includes a beveled surface (274) and a gripping surface (272). The base (220) further includes an engagement recess (222). The engagement member (240) is positioned within the engagement recess (220) and the beveled end (274) of the gripper (271) is capable of being disposed within the engagement recess. The indexing mechanism is configured to reverse index the web when the beveled end (274) of the gripper (271) is disposed within the engagement recess (222) so that the finger (242) and the gripper (271) are inserted into the top of one of the bags.
Machine for forming packages from a web of preformed bags
An exemplary web of preformed bags includes first and second layers, first and second side, first and second side seals proximate the first and second edges, a plurality of transverse seals extending between the first and second side edges, an opening in the first layer, and a line of separation in the second layer, and first and second cuts in the first and second side seals. The first and second cuts are configured to reduce or eliminate a breaking force necessary to break the first and second side seals when the web is torn along the line of separation.
Packaging apparatus, removal apparatus and method for withdrawing a cardboard blank
