Exercise evaluation and recovery therapy system and method
A method for assessing and reversing exercise impairment in adults having peripheral vascular disease includes quantifying a musculoskeletal deoxygenation level (MDL) of a human subject provided by a wearable near infrared spectroscopy system configured to measure the deoxygenation level during exercise, comparing the quantified MDL to a range of pre-determined healthy MDL values for the subject, and, if the quantified MDL is outside of the pre-determined target MDL values, determining a corrective exercise intensity level or ‘dose’ effective to bring the MDL of the subject within the target MDL values and reverse the exercise impairment.
VIRTUAL REALITY GAME- AND BIOSIGNAL SENSOR-BASED VESTIBULO-OCULAR REFLEX ASSESSMENT AND REHABILITATION APPARATUS
A virtual reality game- and biosignal sensor-based VOR assessment and rehabilitation apparatus includes: a biosignal sensing unit which senses and notifies of head movement and eye movement of a patient using an eye tracker and an inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensor attached or installed to a head-mounted display device; a VOR function assessment unit which configures and provides a game for VOR function assessment; a patient-personalization control unit which determines, on the basis of the VOR gain of the patient, the types and order of rehabilitation games, and a rehabilitation level; and a rehabilitation game providing unit which configures and provides games for at least one among smooth pursuit, saccades, VOR rehabilitation exercise, amplified VOR rehabilitation exercise, and suppressive VOR rehabilitation exercise, and determines the difficulty levels of the games on the basis of the rehabilitation level.
Electronic device for detecting biometric information
An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a housing including at least one electronic component, and a pad structure coupled with the housing, and attached to a user body. The pad structure includes a first adhesive material having an adhesive strength at which the electronic device holds attachment in response to lack of existing water or humidity, and a second adhesive material abutting the first adhesive material and having an adhesive strength at which the electronic device holds the attachment in response to existing water or humidity.
ADAPTIVE STIMULATION ARRAY FOR MOTOR CONTROL
A mobility augmentation system assists a user's movement by determining a corresponding electrical stimulation for the movement. A wearable stimulation array includes sensors, electrodes, an electrode multiplexer, and a controller that executes the mobility augmentation system. The sensors measure movement data, and the mobility augmentation system applies a movement model to the measured movement data. The model can determine different electrical actuation instructions depending on the movement stimulated. For example, to stimulate a knee flexion, the movement model output enables a first set of the electrodes to operate as cathodes and a second set of electrodes to operate as anodes. To stimulate a knee extension, the first set of electrodes can be enabled to operate as anodes and a third set of electrodes as cathodes. The user can provide feedback of the applied stimulation, which the system can use to retrain the model and optimize the stimulation to the user.
REAL-TIME, FINE-RESOLUTION HUMAN INTRA-GAIT PATTERN RECOGNITION BASED ON DEEP LEARNING MODELS
Described herein are methods, systems and computer-program products for intra- and inter-gait classification for both symmetric and asymmetric gait patterns using images.
ELECTRICAL BICYCLE ("E-BIKE") DETECTOR FOR ENERGY EXPENDITURE ESTIMATION
Embodiments are disclosed for an electrical bicycle detector for energy expenditure estimation. In an embodiment, a method comprises: determining heart rate energy expenditure of a user wearing or holding the device; determining work rate energy expenditure of a user wearing or holding the device; determining a probability that the user is riding an electrical bike based on the heart rate energy expenditure and the work rate energy expenditure; determining whether or not the probability meets a condition corresponding to a threshold probability; and in accordance with the probability meeting the condition corresponding to the threshold probability: adjusting the work rate energy expenditure; and generating fitness data based at least on the adjusted work rate energy expenditure.
FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY EVALUATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems and methods are provided for testing the ability of an individual to lift objects under various conditions. During standard lifting tests, the average acceleration and velocity of each lift, as well as the distribution of force between the hands and feet of the patient, are electronically measured and recorded. These objective factors can then be used to determine whether the patient is exerting maximal effort, and to assess a patient's condition and progress during a rehabilitation program. In example embodiments, one or more components of the system are adjustable so as to accommodate users of various posture, mechanics, size and movement capabilities.
System and device for guiding and detecting motions of 3-DOF rotational target joint
Examples of a device for guiding and detecting a motion of a target joints and a motion assistance system such motion guiding devices are described. The motion guiding and detecting device comprises a motion generator and a motion transfer and target interfacing unit to transfer the motion generated by the motion generator to the target joint. The system further includes a motion detection and feedback unit that interfaces with the target, and a controller that interfaces with both the feedback unit and the motion generator to control and coordinate the motion of the motion generator and the target joint.
Method and apparatus for analysis of gait and to provide haptic and visual corrective feedback
A system for analysis of user gait and to provide correction in form of haptic and visual feedback. This system comprises a motion and force sensors and a haptic actuator embedded in the user shoe insoles in communication with a smart-phone based analysis application, configured to calculate motion and orientation of the user feet in relation to the value, location and distribution of ground reaction forces measured by sensors located in the shoe insoles and after analysis of said forces and motion, to provide haptic feedback to the user foot instructing about the location (and timing) of pressure the user must apply to achieve an optimal gait.
Systems and Methods Related to Compliance Monitoring
Systems and methods for recording data representative of, and reviewing and analyzing such data for, compliance by patients with prescribed use regimens of rehabilitation devices, such as a sling, are disclosed. Such devices comprise one or more sensors, a power source, and a communication system. The sensors track data indicative of the actual wear or use time of the rehabilitation device, which may be used to monitor compliance with physician recommended wear times. Adjustments may then be made to the prescribed use regimen, or physical adjustments may be made directly to the rehabilitation device.
