CASE-HANDLING DEVICE WITH FOLDING GUIDES
Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a case-handling device including movable folding guides positionable relative to a case to facilitate folding the case's upper major flaps outwardly along their respective fold lines before the case's upper minor flaps are closed.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LOCAL DIMMING IN MULTI-MODULATION DISPLAYS
Dual and multi-modulator projector display systems and techniques are disclosed. In one embodiment, a projector display system comprises a light source; a controller, a first modulator, receiving light from the light source and rendering a halftone image of said the input image; a blurring optical system that blurs said halftone image with a Point Spread
Function (PSF); and a second modulator receiving the blurred halftone image and rendering a pulse width modulated image which may be projected to form the desired screen image. Systems and techniques for forming a binary halftone image from input image, correcting for misalignment between the first and second modulators and calibrating the projector system—e.g. over time—for continuous image improvement are also disclosed.

Apparatus and Method for Manufacturing a Smoking Article Pack
A method of manufacturing a pack of smoking articles. The method comprises providing a planar blank of an inner support frame comprising a front panel and a rear panel connected by a bottom panel, and folding the front and rear panels together about the bottom panel to form an inner support frame in a receiving configuration. In the receiving configuration, the front and rear panels diverge in a direction away from the bottom panel and define an opening remote from the bottom panel. The method includes inserting a bundle of smoking articles through the opening into the inner support frame and folding the front and rear panels together about the bottom panel from the receiving configuration to an enclosed configuration to enclose the bundle of smoking articles. The method includes wrapping the bundle of smoking articles and inner support frame with a film to form a sealed pack of smoking articles. Also an apparatus for manufacturing a pack of smoking articles according to such a method.
FAST CHANGEOVER CARTONER
A cartoner includes an entrance section, a loading section, an exit section, a transport system and a controller. The entrance section is configured for picking carton blanks from a magazine and folding a first side of the carton. The loading section is configured for loading a product into the first-side-folded carton. The exit section is configured for closing the loaded carton. The transport system is configured for transporting the first-side-folded carton from the entrance section to the loading section and the loaded carton from the loading section to the exit section. The controller is arranged for controlling an operation following each carton through the cartoner. The controller is further arranged for adapting, for each carton, a distance between two consecutive carriers of the transport system in dependence to a size of the first-side-folded carton and driving the two consecutive carriers maintaining the distance.
TRANSFER DEVICE
A transfer device, in particular as a robot gripper, for picking up at least one product disposed on a base section of a product carrier and the product carrier from a conveying and/or processing device for the product and/or for the product carrier and for delivering the product together with the product carrier to a device, in particular a packaging machine, arranged downstream, is characterized in that the transfer device has a pivoting device for pivoting a cover section connected to the base section about a kink line extending between the cover section and the base section.
Apparatus for Delivering Product Carriers and Apparatus for Pivoting a Cover Section of a Product Carrier
An apparatus for delivering product carriers, in particular L boards, to a conveying line for food products comprises a store for the product carriers and a conveying device for conveying the product carriers, in particular isolated product carriers, along a conveying direction to the conveying line, wherein each product carrier has at least one base section and at least one cover section connected to the base section; and wherein the apparatus comprises a pre-treatment device for the product carriers that is configured to pre-treat the cover section of a product carrier with respect to its base section.
METHOD FOR PACKAGING PORTIONED PRODUCTS WHICH ARE LIQUID OR PASTY IN THE PROCESSING STATE, AND PACKAGING MACHINE FOR CARRYING OUT SUCH A METHOD
A method for packaging products, wherein packaging material web is transported in direction of an upwardly open pair of folding claws, is cut to length while forming a planar blank of the wrapper, and the blank is positioned above the folding claws, wherein the product is metered, the product portion is pre-shaped, and the blank by placing thereon the pre-shaped product portion is folded into the claws while forming the upwardly open wrapper. Thereafter, the upward-projecting lateral longitudinal peripheries of the wrapper are folded inward onto the product portion, whereupon the transverse peripheries of the wrapper which extend perpendicular thereto are folded inward onto the product portion. The lateral longitudinal peripheries and transverse peripheries of the wrapper are folded inward onto the product portion and are simultaneously connected to one another, while the wrapper provided with product portion is still situated in the pair of folding claws.
