Device for moving a cushioning material into a transport container, and method for operating such a device
The invention relates to a device for moving a cushioning means towards a transport container, comprising a cushioning means dispensing device for the cushioning means and a transport container supply device for supplying the transport container. According to the invention, the cushioning means dispensing device has an ejection device which ejects the cushioning means out of the cushioning means dispensing device such that the cushioning means moves towards the supplied transport container along a ballistic trajectory which has a horizontal component at least temporarily.
ARTICLE PACKAGE FILLING METHOD, ARTICLE PACKAGING METHOD AND DEVICE, AND CONTROL SYSTEM
An article package filling method, comprising: selecting a packaging container for an order article in an order container; picking out the order article from the order container and putting same into the packaging container; and injecting a filling medium into a filling space of the packaging container by using a filling equipment, wherein the filling medium has a specific shape before being injected into the filling space, and can form a spatial shape consistent with that of the filling space after being injected into the filling space. According to the filling method, various specifications or types of packaging containers storing the order articles can be filled, so that the supporting and protecting effects on the order articles are implemented, and the package filling efficiency and applicability are improved.

ON-DEMAND INFLATABLE PACKAGING
In a method of making packages, a web of preformed inflatable bags is moved along a path of travel. The preformed inflatable bags include two inflatable panels, and each inflatable panel includes a first ply and a second ply that are sealed together to form an inflation pattern. Each of the preformed inflatable bags are inflated and sealed across the seals of the inflation pattern. A product is deposited into each of the preformed inflatable bags, either before or after the inflation and/or sealing. Each of the preformed inflatable bags and contained product are loaded into a non-inflatable bag.
Automated air-pillow dispenser
A transfer and dispensing apparatus is disclosed for the conveying and separation of packaging material, cushions or pillows when needed by the operator. When a packer working over a conveyor receives a box that requires void fill, an operating switch such as a foot pedal is depressed to dispense pillows from the apparatus and into the box in a connected strip. When the operating switch is released, the apparatus stops dispensing pillows, separates the continuous strip of pillows along a transverse perforation in the strip, and ejects the end of the separated segment. The packer can then complete packing the box by placing the severed end of the pillows into the box, advance to the next box, and repeat the process. The transfer and dispensing apparatus may be positioned in any convenient location including adjacent to, above or attached to the inflation device.

Automatic dunnage conforming apparatus and method
An apparatus for conforming a dunnage element about contents in a container includes an array of pushers having biased end portions that are movable relative to one another and having end faces for engaging the dunnage element. The end faces of the pushers are biased to an extended state and are movable against the bias in response to engagement of the end faces with the contents and with the dunnage element between the end faces and the contents. At least one of the pushers is movable against the bias separately from a remainder of the pushers to enable conformance of the array to the shape of the contents. The pushers are mounted to a carrier at respective mounts. A motive device is coupled to the carrier and is configured to collectively move the mounts vertically.

Inflatable pouches with reduced exterior distortions
An inflatable pouch includes a bladder formed from an inflatable web and an outer skin formed from a film. The bladder includes a bladder pouch that includes a bottom portion at a folded edge of the inflatable web, front and back portions on either side of the folded edge, and sides where the front and back portions are sealed to each other. The outer skin includes an outer skin pouch that includes a bottom portion at a folded edge of the film, front and back portions on either side of the folded edge, and sides where the front and back portions are attached to each other. The bladder is attached to the outer skin at a tack area such that the sides of the bladder pouch and the outer skin pouch are not directly attached to the sides of the outer skin pouch.
