METHOD TO TRANSFER AND PLACE ARTICLES INTO OUTER PACKAGES AND APPARATUS TO CARRY OUT THE METHOD

Disclosed are a method as well as an apparatus used to transfer and place articles (12) into outer packages (16), which are open at the top and which each receive at least one article group (18), which is composed of a plurality of articles (12). In the method, at least one article group (18) is in each instance seized as a group by means of at least one handling device (46) and is placed from above into one of the outer packages (16). An article group (18), which has been seized by the handling device (46), already is compacted or will be compacted during a procedure of being placed into the outer package (16) in terms of the spacings between at least some of the individual articles (12) of the article group (18), and it is subsequently spread out.

METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE OPERATING PARAMETERS OF A SEALING UNIT OF THE FOLLOWER TYPE
20210187871 · 2021-06-24 ·

A method for controlling the operating parameters of a sealing unit of the follower type in a product packing machine, wherein the sealing unit comprises a sealing module movable with reciprocating motion along a feed path of a tubular film to be sealed. The method is implemented in accordance with a plurality of operating parameters and comprises the step of setting the value of at least one input operating parameter selectable at least between sealing time and production speed. The method also comprises the step of calculating the values of the remaining, unselected operating parameters as a function of the set value, where one or more of the remaining operating parameters are subject to restrictions connected with the machine architecture. The method also comprises the step of checking that the values calculated are compatible with respective reference ranges and/or with the restrictions.

Load Stability-Based Wrapping

Control of a load wrapping apparatus may be based at least in part on the relative stability of a load, such as based upon one or more load stability types that categorize the relative stability of the load. A graphical depiction of a wrap profile may also be used in some instances to facilitate operator set up of the wrap profile.

SYSTEM, METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROCESSING CARTRIDGES EN MASSE

A cartridge processing system can have a base to support cartridges on an underlying support surface. The base can include a rack with support holes to support respective ones of the cartridges. In addition, a tray having a tray bottom can be removably placed on tops of the cartridges. A platform with platform holes can be substantially coaxially aligned with respective ones of the support holes. The tray can have a funnel extending from the platform. The funnel can form a perimeter around the platform holes, such that the platform holes can be conduits for product to be placed in the cartridges.

Method of, and an applying head for, applying a lid onto a container

A method of applying a lid (1) onto a neck (9) of a container (10), the lid (1) having a side wall (3) extending around an axis and an end wall (2) extending transversely to said axis, comprises the following steps: —positioning the lid (1) onto the neck (9); —exerting on the end wall (2) a force directed towards the container (10), so as to level the lid (1) on the neck (9); —screwing the lid (1) onto the neck (9) by rotating the lid (1) in a screwing direction.

INDIVIDUALIZED PACKAGING
20210107246 · 2021-04-15 ·

A method for producing reusable packaging from a carton. A rectangular blank has sides X and Y, a total area xy, 2(a+h)≤x≤3(a+h)+a, and y−2(h+r)≤b≤y, where a and b are side dimensions, h is height, and r is width, or width reduced by height h, of the periphery region R of the finished packaging. The method includes: producing folding lines B in the blank parallel to a first side Y at these distances from the latter: B.sub.1: a.sub.1=h; B.sub.2: a.sub.2=h+a; B.sub.3: a.sub.3=2h+a; severing of two severing lines T, each starting from opposite sides X, along one of the folding lines B, or the extension thereof; selecting the distance between two end points E.sub.T of the severing lines T which are closer to an axis of symmetry S.sub.1, which is parallel to the side X, such that the distance corresponds to a side B″ of the finished packaging or length of a side M of a packaging insert.

CORE OF HIGH-EFFICIENCY AND HIGH-SPEED CARTON SEALER AND METHOD FOR USING THE SAME
20210139177 · 2021-05-13 ·

The invention belongs to the technical field of mechanical equipment and relates to a core of a high-efficiency and high-speed carton sealer, which is suitable for soft or empty cartons and can also prevent tape from being folded and the tape that has been applied from falling off. The use of the core of a high-efficiency and high-speed carton sealer in a packaging production line improves the sealing efficiency, reduces the defective rate of sealing, lowers the requirements on the quality of cartons and significantly improves the economic benefit. For the core, a second first cylinders used to control the tightness of a return spring of a rear arm wheel, so that the spring has different restoring forces at different stages; and a first cylinder is used to control pre-stretched tape, so that the tape has different tensions at different stages, thus achieving the above functions of the core of the carton sealer.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PACKAGE CONSTRUCTION
20210102740 · 2021-04-08 ·

An optimal package structure and an amount of refrigerant to insert into the package structure are determined based upon product information, consumer preference information, and weather information. The optimal package structure and the amount of refrigerant are an optimized combination that is effective to both protect the product from damage and preserve the product from spoilage. A package is constructed to contain the product according to the optimal package structure and the amount of refrigerant is inserted into the structure.

DUNNAGE AND PACKAGING OPTIMIZATION

Systems are provided for automatically optimizing packaging and dunnage for a group of objects. The systems calculate dimensions for a custom-made packaging template. The dimensions for the custom-made packaging template are adjusted to allow for a specific amount of dunnage. The systems generate a packaging command that causes a packaging-production machine to generate custom-made packaging templates based upon the calculated dimensions for the custom-made packaging template. The systems also generate a dunnage command that causes a dunnage-production machine to generate the specific amount of dunnage.

PACKAGING ASSISTANCE DEVICE, PACKAGING ASSISTANCE METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

A packaging assistance device according to an embodiment includes: an acquirer; a determiner; and a display. The acquirer acquires, for each group including one or more articles to be shipped to the same destination, article information pertaining to the articles. The determiner determines, based on the article information acquired by the acquirer, a packaging material for packing the articles included in the group among a plurality of packaging materials having different accommodation space sizes and a method of packing the article having a sequence in which the article included in the group is to be packed in the packaging material. The display displays information indicating the packaging material and the packing method determined by the determiner.
