A packaging machine includes a series of stations or assemblies, including a carton feeding system and a product conveyor that receives a series of articles or products at a first, upstream or intake end of the packaging machine. The products generally can be grouped into a series of products, such as for forming six-packs, four-packs or other package configurations, and will be wrapped by or loaded into a series of carton blanks, after which the loaded cartons will be moved through a discharge station. The discharge station meters the loaded cartons or packages for discharge from the packaging machine.

BOX PACKING APPARATUS

A box-packing apparatus that reduces inefficiency attributable to the box-replacement process includes a first conveyance unit and a second conveyance unit. The first conveyance unit conveys articles. The second conveyance unit conveys the articles transferred from the first conveyance unit and feeds them into a box waiting downstream. When the second conveyance unit feeds a predetermined number of the articles into the box, the second conveyance unit retains the articles transferred from the first conveyance unit without feeding them into the box. Furthermore, in the box packing apparatus, the second conveyance unit may perform a back-feed operation when it retains the articles transferred from the first conveyance unit.

RANDOM CASE SEALER
20190283914 · 2019-09-19 ·

Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a random case sealer. The case sealer includes a top-head-actuating assembly configured to vary the speed of the top-head assembly when ascending (to make room for the case beneath the top-head assembly) and when descending onto the case (to engage the top surface of the case during sealing). This maximizes the speed of the top-head assembly while limiting overshoot (when ascending) and preventing damage to the case (when descending). In certain embodiments the case sealer includes a tape cartridge configured to limit the forces imparted onto the leading and top surfaces of the case during sealing. These features result in increased throughput as compared to prior art random case sealers without requiring stronger cases or more protective dunnage.

A method, a packaging system, and use for packaging objects on a conveyor using a hose-shaped stretch foil of plastic material. A method, system, and use, where the hose-shaped stretch foil may be stretched around the objects in a horizontal manner. The packaging system comprises a first conveyor and a second conveyor where first and second conveyors are arranged for conveying objects from said first conveyor to said second conveyor. The system comprises a foil dispensing mechanism arranged in a space between the first and the second conveyor, and being arranged for dispensing a continuous hose-shaped foil onto said conveyed objects. The method comprises the steps of: conveying a first object and a second object via the first conveyor in a first conveying direction towards said second conveyor; conveying the first object through the foil dispensing mechanism, hereby arranging the hose-shaped foil onto the first object; conveying the first object from the first conveyor to the second conveyor; and conveying the second object in a direction opposite the first conveying direction by a predefined distance, hereby arranging an equal distance between said first object and said second object in said space between said first conveyor and said second conveyor.

METHOD AND PACKAGING SYSTEM FOR PACKAGING ARTICLES

The invention relates to a method and a system for packaging articles (2). Outer packages (3) are set down on a horizontal conveying device (10, 20) and are transported along a packaging line. During the transport, articles are introduced via a manipulator into the outer packages (3), and the outer packages (3) with the introduced articles (2) are subsequently removed from the horizontal conveying device (10, 20) as a packaging unit (8). A predetermined packaging process (VP1) is carried out, in which the outer packages (3) are received by the horizontal conveying device (10, 20) via a plurality of shuttles (5), the outer packages (3) standing on said plurality of shuttles (5), until the outer packages (3) together with the introduced articles (2) are removed from the at least one horizontal conveying device (10, 20) as a packaging unit (8).

Apparatus and method for helically wrapping articles
