A device for dispensing a roll of sheet stock material includes a first pair of rollers. The first pair of rollers is driven by an electric motor. The first pair of rollers is configured to receive expandable slit paper between the first pair of rollers. The first pair of rollers is configured to modify a force of friction applied to an outer surface of the expandable slit paper.

An application unit in a packaging machine attaches a material blank to containers in a container group so as to form a multipack. At least one pressing element connect the material blank to the containers while they are conveyed along a transport plane. A drive unit moves the pressing element with a tool plate between out-of-engagement and engagement positions with the containers. The drive unit has mutually parallel and spaced-apart first and second drive disks to be rotated about respective first and second axes of rotation. The first and second axes of rotation are horizontal and located at the same height but not coaxial with each other. The pressing element is articulated to the first drive disk by a first joint axis and to the second drive disk by a second joint axis such that the tool plate is oriented horizontal during rotation of the two drive disks.

The disclosure relates to a metering apparatus for free-flowing material and to a method for operating such a metering apparatus. The metering apparatus has a metering duct having a closed cross section and further has a rotary drive (M). The metering duct is wound in the form of a screw with a vertical longitudinal axis. The free-flowing material is fed to the metering duct. The metering duct is set via the rotary drive (M) in an oscillating rotary motion about its longitudinal axis with individual rotary strokes, wherein, with each rotary stroke, a partial quantity of the free-flowing material falls out of a lower discharge opening of the metering duct.

A packaging machine configured to form, fill, and seal individual packages is provided. The packaging machine includes a disinfection/sterilization station configured to treat ready-to-fill packaging containers passing through said disinfection station. The disinfection/sterilization station includes a supply section configured to provide gaseous sterilizing agent into open ends of the ready-to-fill packaging containers passing the supply section, and a holding section arranged downstream the supply section. The packaging machine is configured to keep the ready-to-fill packaging containers at the supply section such that the sterilizing agent will condense on areas of the ready-to-fill packaging container having a temperature below the dew point of the sterilizing agent, and the packaging machine is configured to keep the ready-to-fill packaging containers at the holding section such that the gaseous sterilizing agent will treat areas of the ready-to-fill packaging container having a temperature above the dew point of the sterilizing agent.

A packaging machine configured to form, fill, and seal individual packages is provided. The packaging machine includes a disinfection/sterilization station configured to treat ready-to-fill packaging containers passing through said disinfection station. A wrapping apparatus for wrapping groups of products with a film includes conveyor elements for supporting and moving groups of products, a feeding unit for dispensing film portions of defined length through a transverse opening of the conveyor elements, a wrapping unit including a plurality of crossbars supported by respective rods and arranged for picking the film portions and wrapping the film portions around the groups of products and a hub arrangement, rotatable about a rotation axis and slidably supporting the rods to be mobile linearly and transversely to the rotation axis and rotatably about the rotation axis, the crossbars being moved along a wrapping trajectory, and a guiding assembly engaged by the rods and/or the crossbars for guiding the crossbars along the wrapping trajectory changing a distance of the crossbars from the rotation axis during a rotation of the respective rods.

A wrapping apparatus for wrapping groups of products with a film includes conveyor elements for supporting and moving groups of products, a feeding unit for dispensing film portions of defined length through a transverse opening of the conveyor elements, a wrapping unit including a plurality of crossbars supported by respective rods and arranged for picking the film portions and wrapping the film portions around the groups of products and a hub arrangement, rotatable about a rotation axis and slidably supporting the rods to be mobile linearly and transversely to the rotation axis and rotatably about the rotation axis, the crossbars being moved along a wrapping trajectory, and a guiding assembly engaged by the rods and/or the crossbars for guiding the crossbars along the wrapping trajectory changing a distance of the crossbars from the rotation axis during a rotation of the respective rods.

A web packaging machine for forming a food product package from a lower web of packaging material and an upper web of packaging material includes a frame, a web transport conveyor extending along the frame and configured to transport the lower web of packaging material along the frame, and a die box pivotally coupled to the frame and configured to form or close the food product package. A lift assembly is pivotally coupled to the frame and configured to assist manual pivoting of the die box relative to the frame.
