System, method and computer program product for detecting a mobile phone user's risky medical condition
A stroke detection system operative to detect strokes suffered by mobile communication device users, the system including a hardware processor operative in conjunction with a mobile communication device having at least one built-in sensor. The hardware processor is configured to, repeatedly and without being activated by the device's user, compare data derived from the at least one sensor to at least one baseline value for at least one indicator of user well-being, stored in memory accessible to the processor and/or make a stroke risk level evaluation; and/or perform at least one action if and only if the stroke risk level is over a threshold.
Guidewire for imaging and measurement of pressure and other physiologic parameters
A guidewire system includes an elongated wire configured for insertion into a luminal space, such as the vasculature, of a body. The wire is conductive and configured to conduct electrical signals. One or more sensors are coupled to a distal section of the wire and configured to send and receive the electrical signals via the wire. The wire through which the one or more sensors are coupled is the only wire through which the one or more sensors send and receive the electrical signals.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SORTING ELECTROPHYSIOLOGICAL SIGNALS FROM MULTI-DIMENSIONAL CATHETERS
A plurality of electrophysiological signals measured by a respective plurality of electrodes carried by a multi-dimensional catheter can be sorted relative to a direction of interest, such as a cardiac activation wavefront direction. An electroanatomical mapping system can be used to determine the orientation of the multi-dimensional catheter relative to the direction of interest. For example, the user can manually adjust the orientation by manipulating a slider, a wheel, or a similar graphical user interface control. As another example, the user can draw a presumed orientation on a geometric model. Once the orientation is determined, the system can sort the plurality of electrophysiological signals and output a graphical representation of the sorted plurality of electrophysiological signals, for example as a plurality of traces.
Epidermal sensor system and process
Epidermal electronics are non-invasive and non-obstructive skin mounted sensors with mechanical properties matching human epidermis. Their manufacturing process includes photolithography and dry and wet etching within cleanroom facilities. The high cost of manpower, materials, photo masks, and facilities greatly hinders the commercialization potential of disposable epidermal electronics. In contrast, an embodiment of the invention includes a low cost, high throughput, bench top “cut-and-paste” method to complete the freeform manufacture of epidermal sensor system (ESS) in minutes. This versatile method works for many types of thin metal and polymeric sheets and is compatible with many tattoo adhesives or medical tapes. The resultant ESS is highly multimaterial and multifunctional and may measure ECG, EMG, skin temperature, skin hydration, as well as respiratory rate. Also, a stretchable planar coil made of serpentine ribbons can be used as a wireless strain gauge and/or a near field communication (NFC) antenna. Other embodiments are described herein.
CONNECTED BODY SURFACE CARE MODULE
A wearable treatment and analysis module is provided. The module is positioned on or near a body surface region of interest. The module provides remote access to sensor data, treatment administration, and/or other health care regimens via a network connection with a user device and/or management system.
Pulse Detection Apparatus, System, and Method
A pulse detection device including a substrate configured to be attached to a subject, the detection device including components for detecting a pulse and/or that couple monitoring of a heartrate, using photoplethysmography, with detection of a physical pulse force using a pressure sensor.
Catheter for imaging and measurement of pressure and other physiologic parameters
A catheter system includes an elongated tube structure configured for insertion into a luminal space, such as the vasculature, of a body. The catheter is conductive and configured to conduct electrical signals. The catheter includes one or more power and data coupling devices configured to send and receive power and/or data signals, such as from an underlying guidewire disposed within a lumen of the catheter. One or more sensors are coupled to a distal section of the catheter and are electrically connected to the one or more power and data coupling devices.
NON-INVASIVE BLOOD PRESSURE MEASUREMENT SYSTEM
A system for non-invasively determining an indication of an individual's blood pressure is described. In certain embodiments, the system calculates pulse wave transit time using two acoustic sensors. The system can include a first acoustic sensor configured to monitor heart sounds of the patient corresponding to ventricular systole and diastole and a second acoustic sensor configured to monitor arterial pulse sounds at an arterial location remote from the heart. The system can advantageously calculate a arterial pulse wave transit time (PWTT) that does not include the pre-ejection period time delay. In certain embodiments, the system further includes a processor that calculates the arterial PWTT obtained from the acoustic sensors. The system can use this arterial PWTT to determine whether to trigger an occlusive cuff measurement.
CONTACTLESS COUGH DETECTION AND ATTRIBUTION
Methods, devices, and systems for contactless cough detection and attribution are presented herein. Audio data may be received using a microphone. A cough may be identified as having occurred based on the received audio data. Radar data may be received indicative of reflected radio waves from a radar sensor. A state analysis process may be performed using the received radar data. The detected cough may be attributed to a particular user based at least in part on the state analysis process performed using the radar data.
Device and system for sensing medically relevant information from the mouth
An intraoral multisensor device includes a mouthpiece, a plurality of sensors at least one of attached to or integrated with the mouthpiece, and a data communications unit configured to receive signals from the plurality of sensors. The mouthpiece has a form to permit stable arrangement at least partially within a person's mouth such that it can remain for hands-free sensing of a plurality of biological parameters. Also, an intraoral multisensor system includes an intraoral multisensor device and a data processing device adapted to communicate with the intraoral multisensor device.
