DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING AND/OR MONITORING THE RESPIRATORY EFFORT OF A SUBJECT
A device and method for determining and/or monitoring the respiratory effort of a subject are presented. The device comprises a receiving unit for receiving a posture signal of the subject, a breathing signal of the subject, and an electromyography signal of the subject; and a processing unit for determining an electromyography signal based on the posture signal and the breathing signal and for deriving the respiratory effort based on the determined electromyography signal.
Sensors and method for defining breathing signatures for identifying respiratory disease
A lung function analysis system includes motion sensing devices each including accelerometers, gyros, battery, processor, and ireless transmitter, the processor configured to read motion data from the accelerometers and gyros and transmit the motion data over the wireless transmitter. The system includes a data collection device receiving the motion data and recording the motion data in a database; and a computing device with a lung function data analysis routine adapted to analyze the motion data to provide information useful in treating pulmonary disease. In embodiments, the lung function analysis routine includes a classifier trained on a database of motion data and diagnoses. In embodiments, the accelerometers and gyros are three-axis and/or the devices include electromyographic sensors. In embodiments, the system includes remote sensors such as a stereo camera with or without markers, millimeter-wave radar, or an ultrasonic echolocation device. In embodiments the information produced may include FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC and FEF25/75.
System and method for providing auditory guidance in medical systems
An auditory guidance system and method for medical systems and procedures are disclosed. A method for providing auditory guidance during a medical procedure includes selecting a song for playing during the medical procedure. At least a portion of the song is assigned to the medical procedure. Parameter information for at least one parameter associated with the medical procedure is obtained during the medical procedure. The obtained parameter information is compared against predetermined thresholds for each parameter. The portion of the song associated with the parameter information is modified in accordance with the comparison and the modified portion of the song is played to provide auditory guidance during the medical procedure.
VISUAL ALARM INDICATION ON PARAMETER ACTIVE CABLES
A patient monitoring system and method for visual alarm indication on parameter active cables are provided herein. The patient monitoring system includes a plurality of sensors and an active cable coupled to the plurality of sensors to acquire data from the plurality of sensors. The patient monitoring system also includes a host patient monitor coupled to the active cable, wherein the active cable includes a visual alarm that is to indicate an alarm condition using the plurality of sensors.
Ring-shaped skin sensor
A sensory-and-logic system includes a ring-shaped, electrically-conductive skin sensor sized and shaped to form an electrical connection with human skin, and an electrical component surrounded by the ring-shaped, electrically-conductive skin sensor.
ENHANCED INTRAUTERINE DEVICE
The present disclosure relates to an enhanced intrauterine device. Some aspects may involve a body, at least one arm, at least one connector, a communication circuit, and a removal mechanism. The body may be inserted in a uterus. The at least one arm may in a first position extend radially from the body and in a second position be detached from the body. The at least one connector may link the at least one arm to the body such that the at least one arm remains linked to the body in both the first position and second position. The communication circuit may couple to at least one of the body and the at least one arm for responding to a first signal by transmitting a second signal. The removal mechanism may couple to body and may include a magnetic portion for removing the intrauterine device from the uterus.
Oral data collection device
The present disclosure provides an oral data collection device comprising a mouthguard and at least two sensors, a medical analytics system comprising the device, and methods of using the device and system to provide a personalized treatment protocol, stage a health condition, measure a response to therapy, phenotype for selection to participate in drug trials, measure stability of an anatomical structure, or predict a rate of change of a health condition in a subject in need thereof.
Non-invasive intracranial pressure system
Non-invasive intracranial pressure detection and/or monitoring and use of data with respect thereto. Illustratively, with respect to a method, there can be a method to digitally produce and communicate intracranial pressure data from skull deformation electric signals, the method including: receiving, from at least one sensor, detected skull deformation electric signals at electrical equipment configured to transform and process the skull deformation signals that are received; transforming and processing, by the electrical equipment, the received skull deformation electric signals to produce digital intracranial pressure data; and outputting, by the electrical equipment, the digital intracranial pressure data via an output device operably associated with the electrical equipment to render the digital intracranial pressure data.
VITAL SIGNS OR HEALTH MONITORING SYSTEMS AND METHODS
The present disclosure relates to a pulse oximetry method in which the contribution of venous capillaries to photo-plethysmogram is reduced below 25%.
CATHETER INSERT INCLUDING ONE OR MORE SENSORS
In some examples, a device includes a catheter insert elongated body defining a body lumen, the catheter insert elongated body being configured to be at least partially inserted to a catheter lumen defined by a catheter without covering a first fluid opening of the catheter and to form a fluidically tight coupling with the catheter, and one or more sensors positioned on the elongated body. At least one of the one or more sensors are configured to sense a substance of interest. The catheter insert elongated body includes a material that is a substantially non-permeable to the substance of interest.
