The present invention also relates to methods and systems for monitoring a plurality of physiological characteristics of a patient employing said device. The present invention further provides methods and systems wherein multiple devices are used for monitoring a plurality of physiological characteristics of patients.

System and method for disease risk assessment and treatment

An apparatus for early detection of sepsis in a host is disclosed. The apparatus includes a first sensor to directly measure a glucose level, a second sensor to directly measure a lactate level and a third sensor to directly measure a tissue oxygen level. The first sensor, the second sensor, and the third sensor all being inserted at a single point of entry in a subcutaneous space of the host such that a predetermined correlation between the glucose level, lactate level, and tissue oxygen level signals conditions related to sepsis.

CALIBRATION OF OPTICAL GLUCOSE SENSORS BASED ON ELECTROCHEMICAL GLUCOSE SENSORS

The disclosed techniques include obtaining a first signal generated by an electrochemical glucose sensor and a second signal generated by an optical glucose sensor, and obtaining a glucose value indicative of a user's blood glucose level, where the glucose value and the second signal are obtained at different times. The disclosed techniques further cause calculating a mapped value for the second signal based on the first signal, and calibrating the mapped value of the second signal based on the glucose value.

Health monitoring garment and system

A health monitoring garment is provided. The health monitoring garment includes an article of clothing comprising at least one compression section to provide a snug fit against a person wearing the article of clothing and a sensor island. The sensor island includes stretchable circuitry, two or more sensors, one or more power supplies, and optionally one or more wireless communication modules within a self-contained unit. At least one of the sensors comprises a stretchable sensor which may be a respiration sensor. The sensor unit may be provided independent of the health monitoring garment or as a complete system. The sensor island and compression section of the article of clothing also include fasteners of complementary geometries for reversible attachment and disengagement of the sensor island from the compression section.

MEASURING DEVICE FOR MEASURING AN INTENSIVE MEASURAND

In a measuring device for measuring an intensive measurand, including at least one measuring chamber having at least one opening, the opening being placeable on the body to be examined. At least three sensors for measuring the intensive measurand are arranged in the measuring chamber, the sensors being arranged at different distances from the body to be examined during measurement. An evaluation device being provided which receives the values measured by the sensors and determines a total value for the intensive measured variable from the at least three measured values as well as a substance or energy diffusion rate.
