MULTI-COMPARTMENT BAG
A method is disclosed for forming a two-compartment bag. The method comprises draping a sheet of bag forming material around a primary fill pipe and one or more secondary fill pipes, forming multiple compartments by sealing the sheet material around the respective fill pipes, filling the various compartments with material, and sealing the bag.
The method comprises forming transverse seals so that a transverse seal area of a secondary compartment at least partially overlaps with a transverse seal area of the first compartment, so that the secondary compartment is fixedly folded against the first compartment.
The method permits the volume of the secondary compartments to be varied independent from the volume of the primary compartment. Each compartment may be opened without opening the other compartments.
In a preferred embodiment the bag is made of a microwave-compatible material, and at least one of the compartments contains a food material intended for reheating or preparation in a microwave oven.
Package for cigarettes, and method for producing same
An aroma-tight cigarette pack with an outer pack (12) configured in the form of a hinge-lid box, and also with an inner pack (11) configured in the form of a sealed block with an opening aid which can be used a number of times. The opening aid has a removal opening (51) which extends in a sub-region of an inner front wall (39) and of an adjacent inner end wall (41) and is covered over by a closure label (54) with an adhesively bonding connecting periphery (55). The inner pack (11) has closure seams (37) which are designed in the form of fin seams.
Oral and/or buccal delivery pouch and method of making same
An oral sachet designed to be placed in a users mouth, the oral sachet. The oral sachet includes permeable paper that does not contain fiberglass. The permeable paper forms a pouch that includes a top seal arranged at first end of the pouch, a bottom seal arranged at a second end of the pouch opposite from the first end, a vertical seal that extends from the top seal to the bottom seal, and a cavity located between the top seal and the bottom seal. Granular contents, including at least one granular or powdered component, are arranged within the cavity of the permeable-paper pouch.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A PACKAGING FROM A RECYCLABLE MATERIAL
The invention relates to a method for producing a packaging (100) for enclosing a substance (S). A flat sheet (110) made of recyclable material and having two opposite side edge sections (111, 112) is provided and formed into a tube (130) by folding the flat sheet (110) so that the two side edge sections (111, 112) overlap each other at an overlapping section (139). The tube (130) is heat sealed along the overlapping section (139) to form a longitudinal sealing joint (131) and heat sealed across the longitudinal sealing joint (131) to close the tube (130) with a first traverse sealing joint (134) at a first tube end (132). The tube (130) is filled with the substance (S) and heat sealed across the longitudinal sealing joint (131) to close the tube (130) with a second traverse sealing joint (135) at a second tube end (133). A sealing strip (700) that is heat-sealable is provided. A first and second segment (701, 702) of the sealing strip (700) is provided at a first and a second triple point section (171, 172), where the longitudinal sealing joint (131) and the respective traverse sealing joints (134, 135) intersect, respectively. The segments (701, 702) of the sealing strip (700) seal the respective triple point section (171, 172) upon heat sealing of the respective tube end (132, 133) to form the respective traverse sealing joint (134, 135). The invention also relates to a packaging (100) enclosing a substance (S) and a machine (500) for producing the packaging (100).
Apparatus and method for producing tubular packages
Apparatus (10) for producing tubular packages includes a packaging material dispenser (12) and a forming section (20). The forming section (20) comprises a progressive folding region (26a, FIG. 8) having a plurality of discrete, elongate external guide surfaces (50, 52, 54, 56) extending generally in the machine direction (A). The elongate external guide surfaces are spaced apart from one another and configured for contact with an outer surface of the packaging material so as to progressively guide and fold the packaging material about a longitudinal axis from a planar configuration into a tubular structure. The elongate guide surfaces may be arcuate and may be provided by means of guide rods. The apparatus may be a horizontal or vertical form, fill seal type apparatus. The packaging material (14) may be a semi-rigid packaging material such as paperboard, cartonboard, or semi-rigid plastics.
