A label affixing device includes a first conveying part, a peeling part, an affixing part, a discharge part, and a conveying guide. The first conveying part is configured to convey a tape including a label and a release material affixed thereto. The peeling part is configured to peel the label off the release material. The affixing part is configured to affix the peeled label to an adherend and is disposed downstream relative to the peeling part in a conveying direction of the label. The release material from which the label has been peeled off is discharged through the discharge part. The discharge part is disposed downstream relative to the peeling part in a conveying direction of the release material. The conveying guide is switchable between a first position for guiding the tape toward the discharge part and a second position for guiding the peeled label toward the affixing part.
METHOD FOR MOVING TO A REFERENCE FEED POSITION OF A LABEL TAPE AND DEVICE FOR LABELLING CONTAINERS
A method for moving to a reference feed position of a label tape with respect to a dispensing edge of a container labeller and a corresponding device is described. The label tape may be first pulled back beyond the reference feed position by rewinding to its supply roller and then conveyed in the normal feed direction to the reference feed position prevents unwanted detachment of labels at the dispensing edge as a result of the label tape unwinding from the supply roller as well as the use of pusher roller systems upstream of the dispensing edge.
Machine and Method for Its Operation
A labelling machine comprises a supply spool support for supporting a supply spool comprising label stock comprising a web and a plurality of labels attached to the web and which are separable from the web; a take-up spool support adapted to take up a portion of web; a motive means configured to propel the web along a web path from the supply spool support towards the take up spool support. A sensor has a transmitter portion and a receiver portion, the receiver portion comprising a plurality of receivers, the transmitter portion and receiver portion are configured to receive a portion of the label stock therebetween, and the plurality of receivers are each configured to produce a respective sensor signal which is a function of a property of a portion of label stock at a plurality of positions spaced from one another in a direction non-parallel to the web path. In addition, a controller is configured to monitor each of the sensor signals produced by the receivers and to select one of the sensor signals produced by the receivers based on said monitoring of each of the sensor signals produced by the receivers.
LABEL APPLICATION SYSTEMS
Systems and methods for applying decorations from a web onto a substrates are disclosed. According to some aspects, a decoration may be transferred from the web directly to a substrate based on contact of the substrate with an adhesive of a portion of the decoration while the portion of the decoration is attached to the web.
Dispenser
A dispenser dispenses a material that is adhesive on at least one side, wherein at least one adhesive side of the material is covered with a liner, which has at least one slit running in a longitudinal direction, with the material placed on the liner being wound into a roll in the form of an Archimedean spiral and at least one slit being located beneath the material covered with the liner. The dispenser comprises a (i) frame, one end of which has a receptacle for the material, so that the material roll is rotatably mounted, (ii) a first guiding device, by means of which the material is guided together with the liner to a first dispensing edge, at which at least a first liner strip is pulled off, with the liner being separated at the slit located under the material, while the material with the remaining second liner strip is guided to a second dispensing edge, and (iii) a second guiding device, by means of which the material, together with the remaining liner strips, is guided to a second dispensing edge, at which the remaining second liner strip can be pulled off.
Label applying apparatus
Labeling apparatuses for labeling moving items are disclosed having a label release mechanism for releasing labels from a backing, a plate having a support surface with at least one opening through the plate, a fan positioned to create a negative pressure effect at the support surface of the plate, and a free-spinning roller positioned at a downstream end of the support surface for receiving labels that pass along the support surface. The roller has an outer surface portion that includes a nip zone for contacting a moving item application surface to which the label will be applied. A method of applying a label using the disclosed labeling apparatuses is also disclosed and includes utilizing a label support surface and a free-spinning roller, receiving a label, generating a negative pressure effect, supporting the label as it travels to the nip zone, and adhering the label to the moving item.
Peeling device and ink jet printer
The peeling device has a pressing roller that comes into contact with a label attaching surface (a first surface) of the backing paper and a driving roller that comes into contact with a back surface of the backing paper. The peeling device includes a peeling plate that is provided on the upstream side of an interposing roller pair in a transport direction of the backing paper when the label is peeled off from the backing paper and that bends a transport path of the backing paper. The pressing roller is a split roller including a roller shaft and a plurality of rollers. The peeling device includes support frames that support the pressing roller, and coil springs that come into contact with the roller shaft in an area on the pressing roller between the support frames and that bias the pressing roller toward the driving roller.
FIXTURE FOR USE WITH A MEDICAL DEVICE LABEL PRINTING SYSTEM
Fixtures for use with medical device label printing systems are disclosed. An example fixture may include a housing designed to be coupled to a printing device. The housing may have an input region for receiving a media (e.g., that may include a backing portion and a label portion) and a return region. A separating member may be disposed within the housing. The separating member may be designed for separating the label portion from the backing portion. The separating member may be designed to shift between a first configuration where the separating member engages the media in order to separate the label portion from the backing portion and a second configuration where the separating member is positioned away from engagement with the media. The fixture may also include an actuator for shifting the separating member between the first configuration and the second configuration.
LABEL APPLICATOR
A label applicator, system, and method for applying labels to curved sides of objects, such as cell culture dishes, is provided. In an aspect, the label applicator includes a body having a first side and a second side, the second side comprising a curved surface; a base; at least one first resilient member having a defined length between a first end and a second end; and at least one second resilient member engaging the body and the base, wherein the second end of the at least one first resilient member is configured to removably attach to a label and, when the label is in contact with the second end and an object, to apply a pressure to the label that increases as the at least one first resilient member and at least one second resilient member are compressed. The system may also include a label verifier and/or label verification system.
Label peeling device, fluid ejection device, and label peeling method
A holding unit holds label paper conveyed from a label printer that ejects ink onto the label paper. A peeling unit is disposed to the label paper conveyance path downstream from the holding unit, and peels labels from the liner of the label paper. The peeling unit can move bidirectionally between a start peeling position and an end peeling position. A peeling member folds back only the liner portion of the label paper. A peeling conveyance roller disposed downstream from the peeling member on the label paper conveyance path conveys the label paper. The peeling member moves from the start peeling position to the end peeling position by being pushed by the label paper conveyed by the peeling conveyance roller while the label paper is still held by the holding unit.
