A system for automating packaging items that vary in size and number for shipment, comprising a packaging station for holding a pre-folded cardboard box to receive one or more items to be packaged, said pre-folded cardboard box having a bottom panel, two side panels and a first end panel, the first end panel being joined to each of said side panels, the side panels and the end panel being erected from the bottom panel to form a box having an open top and an open side, the bottom panel having an end portion intended to form a second end panel, each side panel having an end portion intended to form a corner panel, at least one cutting unit for adjustably shortening the end portions of the side panels and the end portion of the bottom panel and at least one folding unit for folding the corner panels and the second end panel to close said open side of the box.

The system includes: a plurality of corner sets, each comprising at least two fiber cushions; a plurality of end cap sets, each comprising two opposing corrugated sleeves; and a graphical guide comprising and end cap selector and a corner selector. The graphical guide is configured to allow a user to: compare an ODM box to the end cap selector to thereby select one of the plurality of end cap sets; and compare the ODM box to the corner selector to thereby select one of the plurality of end corner sets. Each sleeve comprises a plurality of height score lines, a plurality of width score lines, and a support feature to stabilize the sleeve during folding.

Display package having two modes

A display package for a consumer product includes a base, a surround window positioned upon the base, and a top cover positioned upon the surround window. Each of the front, back, and two opposed side walls include a respective edge defining an upper perimeter of each of the walls and each of the front, back, and two opposed side walls include a respective edge defining a lower perimeter of each of the walls, wherein these upper and lower edges are constructed such that when the surround window is positioned upon the base and the top cover is positioned upon the surround window the front exposed surface area is greater than the back exposed surface area and wherein when the surround window is removed from between the base and top cover, the edges of the top cover are constructed to mate in a close fitting relationship with the edges of the base.

The shelf system can include multiple shelves, where a shelf includes multiple holes. Each container can include multiple slots and multiple tabs. The tabs of one container can be configured to be inserted through the holes of a shelf into the slots of another container.

The first portion and second portion are movably connected at their respective open ends. The at least one indicator is placed in communication with the package such that when the package is expanded to a desired inner volume the indicator is activated. The closed end of either portion may be opened when a desired inner volume of a food product is reached.
