Endodontic system and method
The present invention provides a system for the endodontic treatment of a root canal that includes (i) an endodontic instrument; (ii) an endodontic handpiece having a drive motor for rotating the endodontic instrument releasably attached to the handpiece; (iii) a control unit for controlling the rotation of the endodontic instrument according to one or more predetermined rotational sequences.
Dental laser interface system and method
Embodiments of the invention provide a method of controlling a dental laser system. The method can include providing a dental laser station and a controller for controlling certain functions of the station. A graphical user interface can be used to provide input to the controller. The graphical user interface can include a control wheel with selectable segments and a menu navigation portion located adjacent the control wheel. Treatment categories, procedures or laser control options can be selected using the interface, and the interface can be updated based on data from the station.
Method for excavating dental material
A method for excavating tooth material, having the steps of placing (S101) a structure-borne sound sensor on a tooth; excavating (S102) the tooth material by means of a fluid jet; detecting (S103) structure-borne sound signals during excavation by the structure-borne sound sensor; and regulating or controlling (S104) a fluid jet generating device based on the structure-borne sound signals.
Dental machining system for predicting the wear condition of a dental tool
A dental machining system for manufacturing a dental restoration including: a dental tool machine (1) which has: a dental blank holder for holding at least one dental blank (2) relatively movably with respect to one or more dental tools (3); one or more driving units (4) each for movably holding at least one dental tool (3) for machining the dental blank (2), a control unit for controlling the dental blank holder and the driving units (4) based at least on a temporal trajectory of the dental tool (3) relative to the dental blank (2) and a spatial amount of material removal from the dental blank (2) along the temporal trajectory. The control unit executes a trained artificial intelligence algorithm.
Operating light for dental care
The invention relates to a projector construction (86) arranged both structurally and operatively integrated into a dental operating light (8) so as to be a part of the dental operating light (8) and wherein the dental operating light (8) illuminates a first area on a surface whereas the projector construction (86) is configured to project graphics, pictures and/or video in essentially the same direction as the operating light (8) on the surface, on a second area.
ENDODONTIC TOOL AND METHOD
A reciprocating endodontic hand tool in which the torque applied to an instrument such as a debriding file can be set at or below an endurance limit of the file below which failure of the instrument will not occur. In preferred embodiments the tool can switch between settings in which the torque applied to the instrument is between the endurance limit of the file and an elastic limit of the file, by setting forward and reverse angles of rotation within specified limits. This reduces or eliminates opportunities for plastic distortion, fatigue and breakage of the file during the canal debriding/cleaning/shaping process in a root canal treatment or retreatment. In some embodiments the torque may be set to at or below a durability limit of the file below which failure of the instrument will not occur through repetitive strain over the course of a particular root canal treatment or retreatment.
ALGORITHM FOR EFFICIENTLY BREAKING A MATERIAL
Systems and methods for breaking a material are provided. In one embodiment, a system for breaking a material comprises a device configured to generate a force or torque on a material. The system further comprises at least one controller coupled to the device. The controller is configured to select at least one degree of freedom and an initial direction to apply the force or torque with the device. The controller is further configured to oscillate the force or torque at a first series of frequencies while applying the force or torque in the initial direction with the device by providing commands to the device.
DENTAL TREATMENT OR EXAMINATION SYSTEM AND ALSO METHOD FOR THE OPERATION OF SUCH A SYSTEM
The invention relates to a dental treatment or examination system having a plurality of treatment or examination instruments and also having a supply unit coupled to the treatment or examination instruments. In this connection, the system has means to identify the contact of a selected instrument from the plurality of instruments and initializes, as a function of an identified contact of the relevant instrument, the supply unit for an operation of the instrument. Using the means to identify the contact it is thus possible to achieve a situation where the supply unit, for example, automatically makes available activation or parameterization options for the relevant instrument and/or suitable media without more extensive manipulation on the part of the user of the system being required therefor. As a result, the operation is facilitated.
Tooth whitening apparatus and tooth whitening method
A tooth whitening apparatus is an apparatus that whitens a tooth surface with light. The tooth whitening apparatus includes a sheet member attachable to the tooth surface, a color tone sensor disposed on the sheet member and detecting a color tone of a portion of the tooth surface adjacent to the color tone sensor, and a light-emitting device disposed at a position on the sheet member corresponding to a position at which the color tone sensor is disposed, the light-emitting device irradiating the portion of the tooth surface adjacent to the color tone sensor with the light in accordance with a detection result of the color tone sensor.
System and method for real time tracking and modeling of surgical site
The present invention involves a surgical site monitoring system and associated method of use employing vectorized 3D-tracking markers attached to a single vectorized fiducial reference and to a surgical site imaging sensor. A tracker obtains image information about both tracking markers and uses either the markings on or shapes of the tracking markers to determine from the image information the 3D locations and orientations of the imaging sensor and of the fiducial reference fixed to the surgical site. A scan taken of the surgical site prior to a surgical procedure with the fiducial reference attached allows live images of the surgery site to be sourced from the imaging sensor and to be overlaid in real time on a 3D model of the surgical site.
