System and methods for pulsing and directing a pulsed laser beam to treat dental tissue
A laser beam treatment system that delivers laser beam pulses to a dental treatment area according to a particular pattern is described. In various instances, the spacing of the pattern (e.g., locations at which pulses are delivered and the distances therebetween) and/or the timing of the pattern (e.g., amount of time between the delivery of pulses to a first location and a later location that abuts the first location) can have a demonstrable effect on ablation performance. The effects can include, for example: improved ablation efficiency, improved surface smoothness, improved material removal rate, and/or the absence of melt, carbonization or other negative surface features.
LASER CONTROL GUI SYSTEM AND METHOD
Some embodiments include a dental laser system with a controller coupled to an electromagnetic energy source, where the controller's graphical user interface enables a user to provide input to control operating parameters of the electromagnetic energy source. In some embodiments, the graphical user interface can render a controller enabling user control of a plurality dental laser system parameters with a single action or input. In some embodiments, the user's interaction with a graphical portion of the controller sufficient to control more than one operational parameter of the dental laser system without a requirement for the user to provide an additional or substantially simultaneous interaction with any other controller or portion of the graphical user interface. Further, the graphical content has a graphic indicative of a mode, an operational status, and/or an operational parameter of the dental laser system that is displayed, updated, or animated by the controller.
DENTAL DRILL TOOL
A system and method for mitigating pain associated with dentistry provides a removal apparatus for removing a portion of a tooth. A desiccation apparatus flows a desiccated gas to the portion of the tooth to desiccate dentinal tubules in a region surrounding the portion of the tooth, generally preventing nerve cells within the tooth from transmitting pain signals associated with the removal. The removal apparatus has a drill head with a body having an axial opening configured to accept a dental burr. An annular passage exists between the dental burr and the body within the axial opening. A chamber in the body is in fluid communication with the axial opening, where a channel is fluidly coupled to an external port and to a source of the desiccated gas to flow the desiccated gas therethrough and expose a drilling region of the dental burr to the desiccated gas to mitigate pain.
ULTRASONIC SCALER WITH LASER THERAPY CAPABILITY
An ultrasonic device with laser therapy capability, and more particularly, but not exclusively, to ultrasonic scaler with laser therapy capability.
Adjustable orthodontic bracket and method using a microstructured shape memory polymer surface with reversible dry adhesion
An adjustable orthodontic bracket includes a metal base adapted to be rigidly secured directly to a tooth by a relatively thin layer of an orthodontic adhesive. This relatively thin layer of heat softening material fastens an orthodontic bracket directly to a tooth and subsequently heats the orthodontic material with a digital laser that allows the polymer material to reproduce a liquidous surface for adjusting the position of the bracket so that the bracket can be adjusted in all directions around the base member without overlapping the periphery of the base member.
DENTAL IMPLANT
An implant, particularly a dental implant is provided, having an anchoring region (12) for anchoring in a bone, which preferably includes a thread (14) for screwing in the bone, and a fastening region (22) for attaching a supra-construction, wherein an abutment region (16) adjoins the anchoring region (12), the abutment region (16) having a guide structure with a plurality of outwardly projecting ridges (18) provided thereon, and preferably, grooves (20) being formed between the ridges (20). The guide structure of the anchoring region (12) allows a better osseointegration and counteracts periimplant bone loss.
Device and method for the application of light-curing composites
The present invention relates to a device and a method for the application of composites in tooth cavities. The device consists of a spray gun with integrated lighting for light-polymerizable composites, a measuring unit and a control unit. The composites are applied under controlled, precisely dosed exposure to polymerization light. According to the invention, the composite initially runs onto the walls of the cavity or onto previously introduced filling material and then, as a result of the light exposure, is transformed into the gel state. Thus, a large part of the polymerization shrinkage of the composite occurs while the composite is still plastically deformable so that any formation of gaps is compensated by the composite continuing to flow. It is only at this point in time that a sufficiently high dosage of light is applied for complete curing to occur.
DENTAL LASER FOR THE TREATMENT OF SOFT TISSUE
A dental laser comprises a hand piece (100) having a grip region (100a) and a treatment tip (101) with an outlet point (101a), arranged at a distal end, for laser light (102), and further comprises a light source (103) and light conduction means (105) for providing laser light (102) at the outlet point (101a). The laser light (102) has a wavelength (104) of 44520 nm, in particular, 44510 nm and more particularly 4455 nm, and an optical power output is provided at the outlet point in a power range of at least 2 W, advantageously at least 3 W and, in particular, 3.5 W. In another dental laser the laser light (102) has a wavelength (104) of 41010 nm, and an optical power output is provided at the outlet point (101a) in a power range of no less than 1 W to no more than 2 W.
Laser Based Computer Controlled Dental Preparation System
A dental tissue treatment apparatus and associated methods includes a feedback-controlled beam guidance system for directing treatment to a defined area of dental tissue.
DENTAL LASER SYSTEM AND METHOD
Some embodiments of the invention include a dental laser system including a mobile transportation cart with a cabinet and drawers, and wheels. An adjustment column is coupled to at least one height adjustable table that is configured and arranged to be raised and lowered. In some embodiments, the dental laser assembly is removably supported or mounted on the table, and includes a dental laser, a laser tool or handpiece coupled to the dental laser, and a display assembly mounted in a display mount of the dental laser. In some embodiments, the distance between the dental laser assembly and the cabinet is dependent on an adjusted position of the table. Further, in some embodiments, the display assembly is configured to be pivoted, rotated or tilted, and the display mount includes at least one retractable or moveable grip.
