Methods and apparatus for packaging and shipping wine. A shipping container includes: a vacuum molded base component having a plurality of cylindrical concave columns within which respective bottles are received; a substantially planar corrugated separator sheet having a plurality of receptors aligned with the axes of the columns and configured to slidably receive respective bottle necks associated with the bottles; a vacuum molded cap component for receiving the bottle necks therewithin; and an outer corrugated box within which the bottles, base component, separator, cap component components are securely disposed.

A device for connecting parts of a crate includes a female sheet including a slot and a peripheral surface; and a male sheet including a tab and a peripheral surface, the male sheet being coupled to the female sheet by the tab. The tab includes a stop element in an upper part of the male sheet closest to the peripheral surface of the female sheet, an upper surface of the tab extending upward, and a front surface of the tab extending downward and being completed with a lower surface connected to an inclined guiding surface.

An inter-connecting structure is provided for connecting multiple parts of a container. The inter-connecting structure comprises a first part comprising a plurality of inter-connecting tabs and slits on an edge; a second part comprising a plurality of inter-connecting tabs and slits on an edge to be joined with the edge of the first part; wherein the inter-connecting tabs and slits share an overlapping portion and once the two parts are connected to each other, the engaged inter-connecting tabs are disposed in an internal region of the container.

A series of attachment clips are used to connect the top and bottom frames to corner uprights and one or more cross supports, where the corner uprights and cross supports are formed from sections of corner board. The attachment clip includes a center wall and front and back walls that each combine with the center wall to form first and second receiving cavities. The first and second receiving cavities are each able to receive one leg of a corner board section. A guard wall is formed on the attachment clip and spaced from the back wall to define a connector cavity. The connector cavity receives ends of a series of connectors used to join the corner board sections within the attachment clip.
