Reagent well having a retention feature for retaining a lyophilized reagent
A method for reconstituting a lyophilized reagent contained within a reagent well comprises the steps of drawing a diluent into a pipette tip attached to an automated pipettor and dispensing the diluent into the reagent well containing the lyophilized reagent. The reagent well has an internal side wall, a bottom wall, and an open upper end and includes one or more retention features disposed about the periphery of the internal side wall and defining a central opening into the well that permits passage of the pipette tip into the reagent well. The one or more retention features are integrally formed with the internal side wall, and each of the one or more retention features extends over a portion of the lyophilized reagent, thereby retaining the lyophilized reagent within the reagent well.

OPENING DEVICE FOR A PACKAGE ADAPTED TO CONTAIN A POURABLE PRODUCT AND PACKAGE COMPRISING AN OPENING DEVICE
An opening device for a package obtained from a sheet of packaging material that comprises at least first and second layers and having a through hole through the first layer and covered by a sheet cover portion of the second layer. The opening device comprises a wall portion applied onto a first side of the sheet cover portion and defining, together with the sheet cover portion, a user-tearable portion of the package; the wall portion comprises a linear weakening slot in a part of the thickness of the wall portion and open at a second surface thereof, opposite the first surface; the linear weakening slot delimits, together with the first side a linear weakening region of the user-tearable portion; the opening device further comprises at least one pull-member to cause tearing of the user-tearable portion along the linear weakening region, and; at least one projecting linear rib element.
Reusable tamper-evident cover for beverage cans
A reusable single-piece tamper-evident cover for protecting a drinking area of a beverage can before and after removal of the cover from the can. The cover includes: a cover top, a clasp ring positioned below and contiguous with the cover top, and a skirt being positioned below and contiguous with the ring. The ring includes at least one tamper-evident seal that includes two tear lines. The tear lines do not extend to the inner cover surface. Tearing along the tear lines results in tampering the seal, and does not tear the inner cover surface. An entirety of the inner cover surface is able to be continuous when the skirt extends along an entirety of the ring, as well as after removal of the cover from the can.
Dispenser Actuator Assembly
A dispenser actuator assembly (100) for actuating a dispenser (10) is disclosed. The dispenser (10) is in the form of a glass ampoule assembly (10) having a rupturable glass ampoule (12) containing a flowable material (M). The glass ampoule (12) is contained within an outer container (14) wherein the outer container (14) has a distal end segment defining a first open end (22) and a second closed end (24). The dispenser actuator assembly (100) has a base member (102) having an opening (110) configured to mount to the outer container (14). The base member (102) has an outlet aperture (280) configured to be in fluid communication with the outer container (14). The base member (102) has an applicator (250) integrally formed thereon and extending from the base member (102). The applicator is in fluid communication with the outlet aperture (280). The dispenser actuator assembly (100) also has an actuator assembly (104) operably connected to the base member (102) wherein the actuator assembly (104) has a first actuator arm (132a) and a second actuator arm (132b) each pivotally connected to the base member (102). The first actuator arm (132a) and the second actuator arm (132b) extend from the base member (102) in generally opposed relation defining a first position, or neutral position. The first actuator arm (132a) has a first protrusion (150a) depending therefrom and the second actuator arm (132b) has a second protrusion (150b) depending therefrom. The first actuator arm (132a) and the second actuator arm (132b) are pivotable from the first position towards one another to a second position, or actuating position, that is configured such that the first protrusion (150a) engages the outer container (14) and the second protrusion (150b) engages the outer container (14) to crush the glass ampoule (12) wherein the flowable material (M) is configured to be dispensed from the glass ampoule assembly (10) and through the applicator.
FOOD PACKAGING
Packaging, in particular pre-packaging, for food, comprising a side part. The side part encloses a receiving space for food, and a bottom part. The bottom part is connected to the side part. The connection between the side part and the bottom part includes, at least partially, a releasable connection. The connection between the side part and the bottom part includes, at least partially, a permanent connection. The permanent connection is at least partially movable. The at least partially movable configuration of the permanent connection allows a hinge effect between the side part and the bottom part. The bottom part can be folded down after an at least partially release of the releasable connection.
Collapsible container
Pet owners are frustrated with conventional wet pet food packages as it is difficult to remove product from these packages. Traditional metal or plastic containers and flexible pouches are not designed to fully eject product in one step. Rather, the consumer must perform additional steps such as scooping, scraping, tearing, or twisting to entirely remove product. Provided is a collapsible package for wet pet foods. The collapsible package has tapered flexible sidewall, a rigid ring and/or circumferential peripheral flange attached to a top of the sidewall, and a rigid base attached to a bottom of the sidewall. The flexible sidewall is configured to be compressible between an expanded position, at which point product is held in the container, and a collapsed position, at which point product is effectively ejected from the container. A lid can also be attached to the ring and/or circumferential peripheral flange to seal the container.
DOMED CONTAINER WITH NITROGEN WELL AND CLOSURE MECHANISM
Embodiments of the present invention relate to domed metal containers, and more specifically to pressurized metallic food containers with liquid nitrogen wells and various closure mechanisms. In some embodiments, the metallic food containers are thin-walled aluminum and are pressurized using liquid nitrogen to maintain strength and integrity. The container can have a nitrogen well to receive liquid nitrogen and keep the liquid nitrogen away from the food stuff packaged in the container. In various embodiments, the metallic food container comprises a domed bottom portion shaped and sized to nest with a food stuff packaged in the container. In some embodiments, the container is sealed with a tear away lid, a screw-on lid, or a metallic end closure double seamed to the container.
