APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PURGING A DENTAL AIR/WATER SYRINGE INCLUDING A BUTTON HOLD-DOWN DEVICE AND FLUID COLLECTION CONTAINER
An apparatus and method for purging a dental air/water syringe comprises at least one of a button hold-down device for holding down at least one button of the syringe for discharging fluid therefrom and a collection container for collecting the discharged fluid. The button hold-down device includes axially spaced contact surfaces for contacting a syringe body and the button so that the device is supported mounted on the syringe body in a working position. The collection container features an interior perforated false bottom wall under which is formed a collection space where the discharged fluid collects, and a drain is communicated with the collection space for removing the collected fluid therefrom. The drain can be connected to a saliva ejector for removal of the fluid by suction.
Oral irrigator
An oral irrigator has a separate high pressure water system and low pressure mouth rinse system to deliver two different fluids to a pick or other accessories. The water system and mouth rinse system are combined in a handle. The pick is connected to the handle. The water system has a blocking valve located in the handle and the mouth rinse system has a hand pump located in the handle. The hand pump sits next to a valve button for closing the blocking valve. When the hand pump is pressed, it presses against the valve button of the blocking valve to shut off the source of high pressure water to the pick. The pressure in the pick drops so that the hand pump can then introduce mouth rinse into the pick. When the hand pump is released, the blocking valve opens up and high pressure water returns to the pick.
Electric motor and dental device
An electric motor that enables to promote a further downsizing and performance enhancement, and a dental device that includes the electric motor. A brushless slotless electric motor 10 includes: a stator 3 that includes a stator core 301 and a plurality of coils 31 to 33 disposed inside of the stator core 301; a rotor 2 that includes a shaft 21, the rotor 2 being rotated around the shaft 21 with respect to the stator 3; and a medium pathway 40 through which a medium passes, the medium being supplied for actualizing a function of a dental handpiece 9A to which the electric motor 10 is applied. The plurality of coils 31 to 33 are adjacent to each other in a rotation direction of the rotor 2 so as not to lap mutually. The medium pathway 40 is disposed between the adjacent coils 31 to 33.
DENTAL TREATMENT AND/OR EXAMINATION ASSEMBLY, DENTAL COUPLING UNIT, AND METHOD FOR FLUSHING THE LIQUID-CONDUCTING SYSTEM OF A DENTAL TREATMENT AND/OR EXAMINATION ASSEMBLY
The invention relates to a dental coupling unit (1), which can be detachably coupled to an instrument attachment (2) for dental treatment and/or examination at the front end (11) of the coupling unit and also can be connected to a supply unit (3) for providing supply media for the instrument attachment (2), wherein a media supply line (4) extends through the coupling unit (1) toward the instrument attachment (2) and wherein additionally a media return line (5) extends through the coupling unit (1), which media return line is connected to an end region of the media supply line (4) extending through the coupling unit (1), which end region faces the instrument attachment (2). The coupling unit (1) has a valve assembly (6), which conducts the liquid from the coupling unit (1) to the instrument attachment (2) when the instrument attachment (2) is attached and conducts the liquid to the media return line (5) and blocks the escape of the liquid at the front end (11) of the coupling unit (1) when the instrument attachment is not attached.
Orthodontic system with tooth movement and position measuring, monitoring, and control
An orthodontic system and method for aligning at least one tooth of an upper jaw or a lower jaw of a patient. In the system and method at least one orthodontic appliance can be provided which may include at least one force exerting member for applying a force to move the at least one tooth, a tooth movement sensor for obtaining tooth movement data, and a tooth movement monitor for calculating at least one of the distance the at least one tooth has moved and a current position of the at least one tooth from the tooth movement data. An electronic control console may be operatively connected to the force exerting member and in data communication with the tooth movement monitor, for controlling the operation of the force exerting member using the at least one of the distance the at least one tooth has moved and the current position of the at least one tooth.
Dental hand instrument and head housing therefor
In the case of a dental hand instrument having a grip sleeve and also a head housing arranged at the front end of the grip sleeve for receiving or holding a treatment instrument, the head housing has a substantially cylindrical hollow space which is connected by way of at least one connecting bore to a connection region pointing to the grip sleeve, wherein the connecting bore is coupled, at its end facing the grip sleeve, to a media line extending through the grip sleeve, and wherein the inner wall region of the head housing enclosing the hollow space has a recess into which the connecting bore opens.
DENTAL DRILL TOOL
A system and method for mitigating pain associated with dentistry provides a removal apparatus for removing a portion of a tooth. A desiccation apparatus flows a desiccated gas to the portion of the tooth to desiccate dentinal tubules in a region surrounding the portion of the tooth, generally preventing nerve cells within the tooth from transmitting pain signals associated with the removal. The removal apparatus has a drill head with a body having an axial opening configured to accept a dental burr. An annular passage exists between the dental burr and the body within the axial opening. A chamber in the body is in fluid communication with the axial opening, where a channel is fluidly coupled to an external port and to a source of the desiccated gas to flow the desiccated gas therethrough and expose a drilling region of the dental burr to the desiccated gas to mitigate pain.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ENDODONTIC TREATMENT
An apparatus for endodontic treatment, comprising: a nozzle connected to a fluid source comprising: a tip small enough to be inserted into a pulp chamber of a tooth; an inner geometry which forms a flow parameters including non-axial flow direction of nozzle fluid flowing through the inner geometry such that discharge fluid discharged from the inner geometry increase rotation of root canal fluid within a root canal sufficiently to remove tissue from the root canal.
MICRO-PULSED LIQUID SPRAY FOR COOLING
An apparatus for cooling tissues which are treated with an energy-based device, such as a laser, is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a spray nozzle which generates an atomized liquid spray for the treatment area, wherein the atomized liquid spray is based on a mixture of liquid and gas. Further, the spray nozzle comprises at least one liquid outlet which ejects a liquid, and at least one gas outlet which ejects a gas stream.
