SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR PREVENTATIVE DENTAL HARD TISSUE TREATMENT WITH A LASER
This disclosure relates to various systems and methods related to preventative laser-based treatment of a dental tissue; for example, to prevent a patient from forming cavities. In some instances, a laser-based treatment system can generate a laser beam pulse with a fluence profile at a treatment site that results in either an increase in acid resistance of the tissue or removal of carbonate from the tissue, without melting or ablating the tissue. In some instances, the laser-based treatment system can direct the laser beam to various locations within a treatment site according to a temporal and/or spatial pattern, that results in either an increase in acid resistance of the tissue or removal of carbonate from the tissue, without melting or ablating the tissue. Many other systems and techniques for preventative and other laser-based treatment are also described.
DENTAL HANDPIECE HAVING A ROLLING BEARING
A dental handpiece (1) having a drive (3) of a tool (4), which drive is located in a head housing (2), has at least one media-conducting line arranged in the head housing, which media-conducting line has an outlet opening to the tool, and a tool receptacle (16) arranged in a drive chamber, which tool receptacle is rotatably supported by means of a rolling bearing (11) in a support (14) of the head housing (2) on a side of the drive chamber facing the tool. The rolling bearing has an outer race (13), which is supported against the head housing (2) radially in the support (14) in the area of a raceway (22) and which has a sub-area (21), the outside diameter D2 of which is reduced compared to the outside diameter D1 in the area of the raceway (22). The head housing has a housing projection (23), which extends into the area of the reduced outside diameter D2, and the media-conducting line (17) runs at least partially through said housing projection (23).
PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR 1-WIRE HANDPIECE
A predictive maintenance system and method for a dental handpiece includes a condition sensor for sensing a condition of the handpiece to obtain sensor data and providing wired communication of the sensor data and a device identifier from the handpiece to a delivery unit. The system is configured to store sensor data, a device identifier and a time stamp in data logging equipment to obtain a usage history for the handpiece. The system determines a maintenance condition of the handpiece based on the sensor data and/or the usage history of the handpiece. In response to a severity of the maintenance condition, the system provides a preventative maintenance indication of a future failure for the handpiece or stops operation of the handpiece.
Interdental cleaner using water supply
The present disclosure is related to an interdental cleaner for operably connecting to an external water supply. The interdental cleaner includes a mounting bracket having a bracket inlet fluidly connected to the external water supply and a pressure regulation assembly operably connected to the mounting bracket. The pressure regulation assembly includes a regulation outlet fluidly connected to the bracket inlet. The interdental cleaner further includes a water flosser operably connected to the mounting bracket and fluidly connected to the regulation outlet. During use, water pressure of water at the regulation outlet is lower than a water pressure of water at the bracket inlet.
CLEANING APPLIANCE
A fluid delivery system of a dental cleaning appliance includes a fluid inlet, a pump for drawing a working fluid through the fluid inlet, a hydraulic accumulator for receiving working fluid from the pump, a nozzle having a fluid outlet, and a valve located between the accumulator and the nozzle. The valve has an open position for enabling the accumulator to deliver a burst of working fluid to the nozzle, and a closed position for enabling the accumulator to be replenished under the action of the pump. A control circuit actuates the pump and controls the position of the valve.
DISPOSABLE DENTAL VALVE DEVICE HAVING A CHECK VALVE
A disposable dental valve device is disclosed having a valve body having a tip receiving end, a hose receiving end, a lumen formed between the tip receiving end and the hose receiving end, a partial opening formed in the valve body, and a rotatable valve sealing body adapted to being inserted into the partial opening, the rotatable valve sealing body having a bore for alignment with the lumen formed between the tip receiving end and the hose receiving end, the bore having a tip receiving opening and a hose receiving opening, the rotatable valve sealing body having a check valve positioned on the tip receiving opening, and the rotatable valve sealing body having a top and a handle portion connected to the top.
DISPOSABLE DENTAL VALVE DEVICE HAVING A SOCKET END
A disposable dental valve device is disclosed having a valve body having an interior, a tip receiving end for receiving a tip, a socket hose receiving end for receiving a tube having a beaded end, a lumen formed between the tip receiving end and the socket hose receiving end, and a partial opening formed in the valve body, a rotatable valve sealing body adapted to be inserted into the partial opening, and the rotatable valve sealing body having a bore for alignment with the lumen formed between the tip receiving end and the socket hose receiving end.
ENDODONTIC TREATMENT SYSTEM
An endodontic treatment system comprising a handpiece and comprising a root canal file that can be detachably coupled to the handpiece. The root canal file has a metallic file wire having a tip, a middle portion adjoining the tip, and a connecting portion adjoining the middle portion. The handpiece has a housing, a drive motor arranged in the housing, and a coupling, which is connected to a drive shaft of the drive motor in a torsionally rigid manner and is rotatably mounted in the housing for transmitting a rotational movement of the drive motor to the file wire.
POWERED COUPLER FOR DENTAL HANDPIECE
A coupling device for selectively coupling a dental handpiece to a dental base station. An electrical power source is housed by the coupling device. A first end of the coupling device is selectively coupleable to the dental base station and configured to receive a gaseous or fluid medium from the dental base station. A second end of the coupling device is selectively coupleable to the dental handpiece and configured to output the gaseous or fluid medium from the dental base station to the dental handpiece and to output electrical power from the electrical power source to the dental handpiece.
DENTAL VALVE HAVING A DISPOSABLE TURRET
A dental valve device having a disposable turret is disclosed having a valve body having a tip receiving end, a hose receiving end, a lumen formed between the tip receiving end and the hose receiving end, an opening formed in the valve body, and a rotatable valve sealing body adapted to being inserted into the opening, the rotatable valve sealing body having a bore for alignment with the lumen formed between the tip receiving end and the hose receiving end, the bore having a tip receiving end opening and a hose receiving end opening, the rotatable valve sealing body having an outer surface having an indentation formed in the outer surface adjacent to the tip receiving end opening with the indentation having an upper ramp portion, a lower ramp portion, and an end having a tab portion.
