Lightweight polymer bottle for wine and spirits
A container for alcohol, e.g., a wine bottle, formed of a polycarbonate wall sandwiched between exterior and interior coatings, at least one of which may be an epoxy of 4,4′-isopropylidenedicyclohexanol and 1-chloro-2,3,-epoxypropane, crosslinked with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane. The polycarbonate wall may be an extrusion blow molded monolithic form at least 1.5 mm thick, and either or both of the exterior coating and the interior coating may have a thickness between 1 nm and 100 μm, inclusive.
METHODS FOR DECORATING A TRANSLUCENT CONTAINER
A method for decorating a translucent container including cleaning an exterior surface of the container and applying a silver layer to the exterior surface followed by a black layer applied over the silver layer. Portions of the silver and black layers are selectively removed to form one or more shapes using a laser. A translucent protective layer is applied over the entire exterior of the container.
Three-Dimensional Printing of a Porous Matrix on a Container
This disclosure describes container(s) having an ultraviolet (UV)-cured matrix and methods to create the same. The glass container according to this disclosure has a bottom and a body extending in a direction away from the bottom along a longitudinal axis. The body has a surface having an UV-cured matrix including UV-curable varnish drops arranged in a plurality of layers and having voids existing therebetween to form a porous matrix structure. A method of printing a UV-cured matrix on a glass container is also disclosed that includes identifying a plurality of locations on a body of the container where the UV-cured matrix will be formed, determining a height value of the UV-cured matrix at each location, applying at least one varnish layer to the body according to an assigned grayscale or numeric value at each location, and applying UV light to cure each respective varnish layer.
Coating apparatus with half open loop
The present invention relates to a coating apparatus also called coating tunnel or coating hood for applying a protective coating to hollow glass containers. In particular it relates to a coating apparatus also called coating tunnel or coating hood with the re-use of the coating material containing exhaust from the end of the coating tunnel for applying the protective coatings to glass containers. More particularly the present invention relates to a coating apparatus also called coating tunnel or coating hood with an additional half-loop that re-uses the coating material containing exhaust from the end of the coating tunnel at the entrance of the tunnel while replacing fresh air.
Glass container having an inkjet printed image and a method for the manufacturing thereof
A glass container has an outer glass surface with an inkjet printed image provided on the surface. An at least partially water soluble cold-end coating (CEC) with a thickness from 0.002 to 10 micrometers is present between the outer glass surface and the inkjet printed image. The glass container is preferably a one-way beverage bottle. A method of inkjet printing an image on a glass container comprises the steps of (a) manufacturing a glass container having an at least partially water soluble CEC layer with a thickness from 0.002 to 10 micrometers, and (b) inkjet printing an image on the glass container.
Cover for C02 cylinders
An envelope for a CO.sub.2 cylinder, that includes a shell that forms a cavity for accommodating the CO.sub.2 cylinder. The envelope can be accepted by an empty-container machine for taking back reusable bottles. The shell includes at least one guide rail for guiding the CO.sub.2 cylinder into the cavity in a first direction.
RESIN COATED METAL SHEET FOR CONTAINER
A resin coated metal sheet for container includes a polyester resin coating layer in which 90 mol % or more of structural units are ethylene terephthalate units. A half-value width of a peak attributable to C═O stretching vibration around 1,730 cm.sup.−1 determined from laser Raman spectroscopic analysis measured by making a plane of polarization of linearly polarized laser light incident on a thickness direction section of the polyester resin coating layer perpendicularly to a thickness direction is 18.5 cm.sup.−1 to 22.0 cm.sup.−1 at a position with a thickness of 1.0 μm from a metal sheet side of the polyester resin coating layer and is greater than 17.0 cm.sup.−1 and 18.5 cm.sup.−1 or less at a position with a thickness of 1.0 μm from a surface side of the polyester resin coating layer.
Magnetic object holder
A magnetic object holder is a device for releasably attaching an object to a ferromagnetic surface. The device can include an insulated flexible sleeve defining an interior space in which the object is removably receivable. The sleeve grips the object in an interference fit when the object is received in the interior space. One or more magnets secured to a portion of the sleeve enables the sleeve to be releasably attached to the ferromagnetic surface while the object is received in the interior space.
IMPACT-PROTECTION DEVICE CAPABLE OF BEING PROVIDED ON A BOTTLE
A device for protecting against shocks for a glass bottle is presented, having a body, a bottom and a distal portion successively comprising from the body, a shoulder, a collar and a neck, said device comprising a first cup engaging with the bottom and a second cup engaging with the shoulder, each of the cups having a projecting portion for damping shocks, along a transversal plane, beyond a zone of a larger diameter of the bottle. The projecting portion of at least one from among the first and the second cups includes a plurality of damping pads spaced apart from one another.
Resin-coated metal sheet for container
A resin-coated metal sheet for a container, the metal sheet including: a first resin coat layer provided on a first surface of the metal sheet; a second resin coat layer provided on a second surface of the metal sheet, wherein each of the first and the second resin coat layers is composed mainly of a polyester resin having a melting point of 230° C. to 254° C., and the first resin coat layer, in a state that the resin coat layers coat the metal sheet, is formed of a resin material having: an arithmetic average roughness (Ra) of 0.10 μm to 1.0 μm; a crystallization temperature of 110° C. to 160° C.; and a water contact angle of 55 degrees to 80 degrees in a state that the resin coat layers have been heated at 240° C. for 90 seconds after the resin coat layers coat the metal sheet.
