THERMOPLASTIC FILMS AND BAGS WITH ENCAPSULATION-BASED DELAYED ODOR CONTROL AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
The present disclosure relates to a thermoplastic film that includes a plurality of ribs and a plurality of web areas that separate and connect the ribs. The thermoplastic film further includes an encapsulated odor control component that includes an odor control active encapsulated within a plurality of encapsulants. The encapsulants can be configured to delay a release of the odor-control active until activated. Further, the encapsulated odor control component can be applied across the plurality of ribs and the plurality of web areas, which can be configured to cause the encapsulants to activate in phases.
MULTI-FILM THERMOPLASTIC BAGS HAVING CONJOINED HEM CHANNELS AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
One or more implementations of a multi-film thermoplastic bag with a conjoined hem channel. For example, the multi-film thermoplastic bag includes a multi-film hem channel. Bonds secure the layers of the hem channel together so as to prevent a drawtape from inverting or bunching an inner layer of the hem channel during cinching. The bonds are thus located in a hem channel of a multi-film thermoplastic bag so as to reduce an amount of mechanical engagement between the films of the multi-film thermoplastic bag and another thermoplastic film such as a drawtape. In one or more implementations, a grab zone of the multi-film thermoplastic bag also includes bonds in the form of contact areas to provide tactile and visual cues of strength in the grab zone.
Woven plastic bags with features that reduce leakage, breakage and infestations
A woven laminated plastic bag having features that further prevent leakage of contents out of the bag, or infestation of organisms into the contents of the bag is provided. In various aspects the bag can be fabricated from woven polypropylene and/or polyethylene layer which can be laminated with a film layer, can form a pinch bottom bag, and can have one or both sides include graphics and/or printing. The bag can also provide a top end and/or a bottom end either or both of which provide a discrete area which may contain discrete graphics and/or printing. The bag can also include a tape covered easy open feature that facilitates removal of tightly adhered sealing tape.
FLEXIBLE STORAGE TANK
Various aspects of the present disclosure relate to a sealed storage tank. The sealed storage tank includes a polymeric layer having a thickness in a range of from about 0.05 mm to about 1 mm. The sealed storage tank further includes a fibrous scrim layer directly contacting the polymeric layer. The fibrous scrim layer includes a denier value in a range of from about 500 denier to about 1500 denier. The polymeric layer is optionally substantially translucent or transparent and is optionally at least partially visible through the fibrous scrim layer.
FLEXIBLE STORAGE TANK
Various aspects of the present disclosure relate to a sealed storage tank. The sealed storage tank includes a first film. The first film includes a first polymeric layer having a thickness in a range of from about 0.05 mm to about 1 mm. The first film further includes a first fibrous scrim layer directly contacting the first polymeric layer. The first fibrous scrim layer has a denier value in a range of from about 500 denier to about 1500 denier. The sealed storage tank further includes a second film. The second film includes a second polymeric layer having a thickness in a range of from about 0.05 mm to about 1 mm. The second film further includes a second fibrous scrim layer directly contacting the second polymeric layer. The second fibrous scrim layer has a denier value in a range of from about 500 denier about 1500 denier.
MULTI-COMPARTMENT CONTAINERS
The present disclosure is directed to various multi-compartment containers, such as, for example, packets, packages, pouches, bags, sacks, cases, or sachet-type containers including, for example, a product compartment and a waste compartment, along with related methods for manufacturing such packages.
ADDITIVE APPLICATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PADDED MAILERS
An additive application system utilized to form a padded mailer is provided, along with corresponding methods and systems. The system applies an additive liquid to a portion of a first web that, along with a second web, forms a panel of the padded mailer. After contact occurs, an internal pouch for the panel is formed. When the additive liquid and expandable adhesive positioned within the internal pouch are energized via an oven, the expandable adhesive expands in thickness within the internal pouch to form padding for the panel. Utilizing additive liquid enables use of less expandable adhesive while maintaining a desired speed of operation of the oven to still produce a desired thickness for the padding. Cooling may be applied after expansion in the oven to retain thickness expansion in the padding.
EASY OPEN PLASTIC BAGS
A woven laminated plastic bag having features that prevent leakage of contents out of the bag, or infestation of organisms into the contents of the bag is provided. The bag can provide a top end and a bottom end that provide a discrete area that may contain discrete graphics or printing. The bag can also include an easy open feature that can be easily opened with less force than a sealed closure of the bag. The easy open feature may be oriented in various directions with respect to the bag.
Synthetic Mesh Reinforced Multilayer Material and Bags Made Therefrom
A reinforced multilayer material includes a mesh material covered on at least one side, and possibly both, by a layer of a resinous film material. The mesh material includes filaments that intersect one another, at least some of the filaments being composite filaments having a carrier portion of a relatively high melting point and a bonding portion of a relatively low melting point, the bonding portion of each composite filament being thermally bonded to other filaments at least some points of intersection. The multilayer material has a mass per unit area of less than 9.0 oz/yd.sup.2 and at least one of a) a bursting strength to mass per unit area ratio of at least 9.0 lbs./(oz/yd.sup.2), where bursting strength is measured in accordance with ASTM-D37 86 and b) a breaking elongation of at least 5% in the warp direction when breaking elongation is measured in accordance with ASTM-D37 86. A bag is provided that is made at least in part from a multilayer material having at least some of the characteristics described above.
Packaging bag
The packaging bag is a packaging bag made of a laminate formed in a bag shape, the laminate being composed of a paper substrate, a foamed sheet made of polyolefin resin laminated on an inner side relative to the paper substrate, and a sealant layer laminated on an inner side relative to the foamed sheet, which are laminated with the sealant layer facing inward. In the packaging bag, a thickness of the foamed sheet is in a range of 0.8 mm to 5.0 mm, an expansion ratio of the foamed sheet is in a range of 15 to 50 times, and a bending stiffness of the paper substrate in an MD direction is in a range of 150 mN to 700 mN.
