POLYMERIC BAGS AND METHOD TO MAKE SAME
20190092564 · 2019-03-28 ·

The present invention is directed to a bag of polymeric film and a method to make the bag. The bag can be comprised of a front panel and a rear panel. The front and rear panels can each be comprised of multiple layers of film. The bag can be formed from a collapsed bubble of polymeric film that has been folded in half so that opposing edges of the collapsed bubble form an opening of the bag. One of the layers of the folded bubble can be split adjacent to an edge of the collapsed bubble and a draw tape film can be inserted between the layers of the folded and collapsed bubble. The collapsed bubble can further be embossed by a pattern that can provide enhanced properties to bags formed from the folded bubble.

According to an aspect of the invention, provided is a bag-shaped container including a tubular film and at least one pair of engagement portions. The tubular film has an inner surface and an outer surface, and is folded in a manner that the outer surface configures both an inner surface of a bag body and an outer surface of the bag body. The at least one pair of engagement portions projects from the inner surface of the bag body, and engages with each other.

MULTIWALL PAPER-BASED PACKAGING STRUCTURES

A paper-based packaging article includes outer and intermediate paper plies and an inner polymer film ply. A first adhesive layer is disposed between the inner and intermediate paper plies for gluing the inner polymer film ply to the intermediate paper ply. A second adhesive layer is disposed between the intermediate and outer paper plies for gluing the intermediate paper ply to the outer paper ply. The first and second adhesive layers overlap and are coaligned. The outer and intermediate paper plies and the inner polymer film ply are adjoined to form a multiwall structure, wherein the first adhesive layer and the second adhesive layer are coaligned with each other on the multiwall structure. The first adhesive layer comprises a first plurality of adhesive spots and the second adhesive layer comprises a second plurality of adhesive spots, wherein the adhesive spots of the first plurality of adhesive spots do not overlap with the adhesive spots of the second plurality of adhesive spots.

Impact resistant liquid bladders

A bladder having a fluid impermeable material layer that is compatible with a liquid held in the bladder and at least one impact protection layer that is conformally arranged to span a surface area of the liquid impermeable material.

The present disclosure provides a plastic carrier bag wherein the holding strap joined to the front panel and the holding strap joined to the rear panel comprises a first flexible hose-like hollow body or a single or multi-layered material strip not forming a hollow body, either of which is surrounded by a second flexible hose-like hollow body. Further, the present disclosure includes a holding strap for a plastic carrier bag containing a first flexible hose-like hollow body or a single or multi-layered material strip not forming a hollow body and a second flexible hose-like hollow body which surrounds the first flexible hose-like hollow body or the single or multi-layered material strip not forming a hollow body.

Multi-layered bags with discrete non-continuous lamination

Multi-layer bags may be formed to include first and second sidewalls joined along a first side edge, an opposite second side edge, and a closed bottom edge. The first and second layers may be non-continuously laminated together in discrete sections to include bonded regions in which the layers are bonded and unbonded regions in which the layers are not bonded. Such a bag may be described as a bag-in-a-bag type configuration in which the inner bag is non-continuously bonded to the outer bag. The inventors have surprisingly found that such configurations of non-continuous bonding provides increased and unexpected strength properties to the multi-layer films and bags.
