Plastic bags, rolls of plastic bags, and tubular blown film processes of making the same
A process of manufacturing a roll of plastic bags. The process includes forming a tubular blown film, and collapsing the tubular blown film so that the tubular blown film includes a first side, a second side, a first edge, and a second edge. Openings are cut in the collapsed tubular blown film, and sealing closure mechanisms are inserted through the openings into the collapsed tubular blown film. The sealing closure mechanisms are then fixed to the collapsed tubular blown film.
Hold-open device and package having same
A device for selectively retaining a package opening in a gaping configuration and a package including the device applied to a package body. The device includes a circumferential strip with side seams formed as vertical or longitudinal hinges. One or more tabs extend in a first axial direction from an upper edge of the circumferential strip at the side seams. Each tab is coupled to the circumferential strip with a horizontal or transverse hinge. The tabs are pivotable about the horizontal or transverse hinges in opposite directions away from the opening axis to respective folded-out positions, which inhibits the device from folding at the side seams and retains a gaping open configuration of the device and package. The vertical hinges include thru cuts or line of perforations that go through the entire material thickness of the circumferential strip and the one or more tabs and extend for a majority of the full axial length of the device. The horizontal hinges may be in the form of a living hinge or alternatively thru cuts or a line of perforations.
CHILD-RESISTANT FRONT-OPENING RECLOSABLE ENCLOSURE
A reclosable enclosure includes front and back panels and a reclosable mechanism. The front panel and the back panel are coupled to each other and form an interior cavity therebetween. The front panel is configured to form an access slot that extends widthwise along the front panel. The reclosable mechanism is coupled to an interior side of the front panel along the access slot. The reclosable mechanism has a first profile and a second profile forming a zipper. The first profile includes a user tab that is accessible through the access slot. The user tab is configured to assist in separating the first and second profiles to provide an opening to the interior cavity of the reclosable enclosure.
MEDICAL PACKAGING WITH A PACKAGING SLEEVE AND OUTER VACUUM PACKAGING
Medical packaging for the sterile storage of medical articles in a hermetically and sterile sealable packaging sleeve. The packing generally includes at least two parts, with a sealed, film-like outer packaging, which at least partially encloses the packaging sleeve in a form-fitting manner and provides a pressure that is reduced with respect to the atmosphere. At least one end face of the packaging sleeve may be designed to be flattened, wherein a length of the outer packaging is generally longer than a length of the packaging sleeve and projects beyond the end face region of the packaging sleeve. A sealing or welding seam may be arranged at least in the end face region of the packaging sleeve, wherein at least one of the end faces of the packaging sleeve, preferably both end faces, are designed so as to be flattened off. The end-sided transition from the packaging sleeve into the outer packaging is substantially wrinkle free.
Precision scored exterior pocket for flexible package
A flexible walled package formed from a multiple layer laminate and having an external recloseable pocket for holding a scoop or other item is provided. The pocket has a back panel formed from part of an inner layer and a front panel formed from part of a scored outer layer. Outside the perimeter of the pocket the inner layer and the outer layer are adhered together with permanent adhesive. Inside the pocket perimeter the inner layer and the outer layer may be adhered together with pressure sensitive adhesive to close the pocket.
Self Opening Wide Mouth Carryout Bag Pack, Apparatus and Method of Making Same
An apparatus for making a self-opening bag pack includes a supply of flexible film material. An extruder forms a continuous tube of film. A flattener flattens the tube. A first sealer forms a bottom seal across a width of the flattened tube. A cutter cuts the flattened tube into bag blanks has a bag mouth at a predetermined distance from the bottom seal. Second and third sealers form angled seals at lower corners of the bag blank forming a flat bottomed bag. An adhesion knife penetrates the bag pack adhering adjacent bag blanks together in the bag pack. An aperture maker forms apertures for suspending the bag pack from a dispensing rack. The pack is attached to the dispensing rack and the front wall of the subsequent bag is adhered to the rear wall of a first bag, thereby causing the first bag to open when pulled from the rack
Carrier bag with loops and displaced rims
A carrier bag has a first side panel (back panel) with a first carrier handle, which may be a first flexible loop, and an opposing second side panel (front panel) with a second carrier handle, which may be a second flexible loop. The first side panel has a first upper edge and a first lower edge as well as two opposite first side edges, wherein the second side panel has a second upper edge and a second lower edge as well as two opposite second side edges. The first and second side panels are connected to each other at or adjacent to the respective first and second side edges to form lateral sides of the bag, or the first and second side panels are connected at the first and second side edges to opposing lateral walls to form lateral sides of the bag. A bottom of the bag is formed by a bottom wall that is connected to the first and second lower edges or by a weld seam or glue seam that joins the first and second lower edges. An opening is formed between the first and second upper edges, wherein the first upper edge has a first distance from the first lower edge and the second upper edge has a second distance from the second lower edge, wherein the first distance is smaller than the second distance. The first upper edge is displaced by a third distance from the second upper edge. Furthermore, the disclosure relates to a rack of bags comprising such carrier bags as well as a method for producing carrier bags and a process of serially dispensing and opening carrier bags.
PACKAGING SYSTEM WITH FLEXIBLE OBJECT
A packaging system configured to hold objects therein may include a tray that includes a cavity and a set of lugs on an inner surface of the cavity. A first object may be located within the cavity, where the first object is isolated from simultaneously engaging each lug in the set of lugs. A flexible object may be at least partially located within the cavity. The flexible object may be bent and engaged against the set of lugs, such that the flexible object is held in place at least partially within the cavity by the set of lugs and the first object is held within the cavity by the flexible object.
Container with hinge
A hinge is disclosed herein. Exemplary methods and systems for incorporating a hinge into a container to facilitate retention of the container in a given state are provided. A container having a hinge are described herein, wherein the hinge may include a first portion, a second portion, and a retention interface.
Self Opening Bag Pack, Apparatus and Method of Making Same
An apparatus for making a self-opening bag pack includes a supply of film material. An extruder forms a continuous tube of film. A flattener flattens the tube. A corona treater treats at least one surface of the flattened tube. A first sealer forms a bottom seam across a width of the flattened tube. A cutter cuts the flattened tube into bag blanks at a predetermined distance from the bottom seam. A stacker forms the bag blanks into a bag pack. An adhesion knife penetrates the bag pack and adheres adjacent bag blanks together in the bag pack. An aperture maker forms means for suspending the bag pack from a dispensing rack. The pack is attached to the dispensing rack and the front wall of the subsequent bag will be adhered to the rear wall of a first bag, thereby causing the first bag to open when pulled from the rack.
