Apparatus for dispensing an adhesive
10266331 · 2019-04-23 ·

A method and apparatus for dispensing an adhesive having a base component and a hardener component that when mixed produce a curable adhesive is disclosed. The apparatus includes a compliant exterior wall enclosing a first volume for containing the base component and a second volume for containing the hardener component, the first and second volumes being separated by a membrane within the exterior wall. The apparatus also includes a frangible region formed in the exterior wall and being operable to rupture to provide at least one outlet in response to an increase in pressure caused by a force applied to the exterior wall, the at least one outlet permitting respective portions of the base component and the hardener component to be expelled to facilitate mixing of the curable adhesive.

TUBULAR CONTAINER WITH AN OUTER TUBE AND AN INNER CONTAINER

Tubular container (1) made of a flexible material, which comprises an outer tube (10) and an inner container (30) housed inside the outer tube (10) and intended to come into contact with the packaged product (51). A flexible shoulder (32) of the inner container (30) is secured to a head (12) of the outer tube (10), there remaining an intermediate cavity (7) between the outer tube (10) and the inner container (30). At least one orifice (24) communicates the intermediate cavity (7) with the exterior of the tubular container (1). The head (12) may include a one-way airless valve. The outer tube (10) may recover its shape whilst the inner container (30) remains compressed during the use of the tubular container (1). The outer tube (10) and the inner container (30) are preferably made out of materials that fulfil different requirements. The distal end (36) of the inner container (30) is preferably flared against the outer tube (10).

Foil bag, carbon containing nipple, nipple kit, carbon containing electrode, electrode kit, electrode-nipple system, furnace and method of operating the furnace

A carbon-containing nipple has a nipple thread for carbon-containing electrodes. The nipple has an inlet formed in the nipple thread and the inlet is suitable for receiving an adhesive container filled with a curable adhesive. Preferably, the inlet is a groove which runs through the nipple thread in a transverse manner and is undercut at least in sections. A nipple kit contains such a nipple and the adhesive container containing the adhesive for securing a nipple/electrode connection, wherein the adhesive container is disposed in the inlet. The nipple kit can be used in conjunction with a carbon-containing electrode for use in arc furnaces.

DISPENSER FOR DISPENSING FLOWABLE MATERIAL

In one aspect, a dispenser is provided herein for dispensing flowable material, such as sunscreen lotion, including a resiliently deformable body encompassing a closed volume with an optional flexible pouch disposed therein to accommodate the flowable material. A discharge element is also provided having at least one discharge opening, along with at least one valve regulating flow from the closed volume or the flexible pouch and through the discharge opening. The body is configured so that a threshold amount of deformation of the body causes the flowable material to urge from the closed body through the discharge opening or the pressure increase of the closed volume acting on the flexible pouch sufficiently so that flowable material accommodated in the flexible pouch is urged therefrom through the discharge opening. Advantageously, the dispenser of the subject invention allows for a generally isobaric environment to be created which acts evenly about the flexible pouch. This allows for a more even application of pressure acting against, and a more complete depletion, of the optional flexible pouch.
