Storage system for medical instruments

A receiving sleeve receives surgical instruments. A holding device for storing and cleaning surgical instruments includes at least one receiving sleeve. A surgical instrument set includes a holding device and/or receiving sleeve. The receiving sleeve and the holding device have a light construction which allows the maximum flow of fluid to instruments held in the receiving sleeve or holding device. The receiving sleeve includes a cylindrical hollow body with a plurality of peripherally spaced inner clamping arms which have punctiform or linear engagement sections that are adjusted to come into contact with an inserted tool in a force-fit or form-fit manner for holding the tool within the receiving sleeve at a radial distance to the cylindrical body.

ELECTRICAL ROTATING CUTTING INSTRUMENTS AND SYSTEMS

A rotating cutting instrument (20) is provided that includes a proximal electrically-conductive shank (24), configured to receive torque. An electrically-conductive outer electrode (26) includes an electrically-conductive distal end portion (28) that is shaped so as to penetrate tissue when rotated, and is in electrical contact with the proximal electrically-conductive shank (24). An electrically-conductive inner electrode (30) has a proximal end portion (32). An electrical isolation layer (34) is disposed between the electrically-conductive outer electrode (26) and the electrically-conductive inner electrode (30), so as to electrically isolate the electrically-conductive outer electrode (26) and the electrically-conductive inner electrode (30) from each other. Other embodiments are also described.

Positioning a cord of a corded instrument is accomplished by securing a wearable cord positioner around a wrist or arm of a technician, and then pressing a cord into the cord positioner. A body of the cord positioner holds the cord in a substantially fixed position relative to a band. The body may be fixed relative to the band, or the body may be adjustable such that the cord can enter and exit the body at different angles relative to the band. The body may be removeably fastened to the band for easy cleaning or to change the body with a body designed to hold and position a different sized of cord.
