Closure with a surface tension seal
A closure for a glass container arranged to contain flowable content, the container defining a first extremely flat annular surface, the closure comprising a sealing disc made of hard material adapted to sit across the annular surface, the disc defining a second extremely flat surface, retaining means to urge the first and second extremely flat surfaces into parallel abutting contact and to prevent lateral movement of the disc relative to the first surface, the extremely flat surfaces adapted to form a surface tension seal when they are urged into parallel abutting contact wherein a wetting agent is provided between the extremely flat surfaces at the abutting contact of the surfaces.

Recessed Container Closure and Method of Increasing Advertising Space on a Container using a Recessed Container Closure
The present invention relates to maximizing advertising space on product packaging. Embodiments of the present invention relate to a method of increasing advertising space on various product packaging by increasing the graphic space on and apparent volume of the packaging, such as those used for cosmetics and toiletries. Preferred embodiments include a product packaging with a partially or completely recessed container closure. Further preferred embodiments include a container closure that is threaded, fused, or snapped in to the body of the container. Embodiments of the invention can be modified to accommodate existing products or provide a unique package design for emerging products.

TWO-PIECE DISPENSING CLOSURE
Embodiments of the disclosure generally provide a dispensing closure for a dry goods container. The closure includes a a base secured to a top portion of a dry goods container and having a substantially planar upper surface with central hub aperture and at least one product dispensing aperture formed therethrough, the base being molded in a first shot of a two-shot process from polyethylene material or syndiaotactic polyethylene. The closure further includes a rotor having a substantially planar lower surface having at least one product dispensing aperture formed therethrough, the rotor being molded in a second shot of a two-shot process from a low density polyethylene, the rotor being molded directly on the base in the two-shot process. A breakout plug is integrally molded with the rotor and connected by at least two axially aligned breakaway securing members, the breakaway securing members each having a structural connection between an outer perimeter surface of the breakout plug and a main body of the rotor, the structural connection having a larger cross sectional area at a connection adjacent the breakout plug than a cross sectional area at a connection adjacent the main body of the rotor. A hub is integrally molded with the rotor and extending therefrom through the central hub aperture and a hub securing member is positioned on a distal end of the hub that extends through the central hub aperture, the hub securing member having a larger diameter than a diameter of the central hub aperture.

Seal Stock Laminate
A method for producing a primary laminate including a tabstock by feeding a seal laminate comprising bottom food contact layers including a foil layer and a top polyester layer to a laminating station wherein either the foil layer of the underside of the polyester layer has been printed; simultaneously feeding a tabstock, which is narrower than the seal laminate, to the laminating station such that the bottom of the tabstock and the top polyester layer of the seal laminate come into contact to form a primary substrate, simultaneously feeding a plastic film stock; and continuously extruding a polymeric adhesive between the top face of the primary substrate and bottom surface of the plastic film stock.
Container and method for preserving air-sensitive materials
Container for e.g. wine has a vessel, a seal assembly, and a handle assembly. The seal assembly has upper and lower seal compressor moldings on major faces of a seal, and seal's edge expands in response to moving the seal's major faces together to increase a diameter of the seal. Pressure on a glass vessel is sufficiently low to prevent the glass from cracking or breaking, and pressure can be sufficiently high to prevent air from entering the enclosed volume. Methods and parts associated with the container are also discussed.
Universal non-spill bottle cap
A universal non-spill cap includes an outer wall, an inner wall, and a disk. The outer wall has a bottom end and a top end. The inner wall extends from the top end of the outer wall to the disk. The inner wall defines a gap with the outer wall that is configured to receive a neck of a bottle such that the outer wall forms a seal with the inner wall. The disk is supported by the inner wall. The disk defines an opening that is configured to receive and form a seal about a drinking implement that is inserted through the opening.
Elastomeric closure with barrier layer and method for its manufacture
An elastomeric closure (10) having an internal barrier film (16) is provided. The elastomeric closure includes a top portion (12) and a bottom portion (14) formed together with a barrier film (16) disposed between the top and bottom portions. The barrier film may span the overall length and width of the elastomeric closure and preferably includes an aluminum foil as the barrier film material.
