Container with sealable lid

A storage container assembly includes a container and a lid. The lid includes a top lid, a button, a gasket, a gasket pusher, and an arm. The button is moveable in a first axial direction between a projected position in which a top surface of the button is offset from an upper surface of the lid and a depressed position in which the top surface of the button is nearer to the upper surface. The gasket is moveable between a contracted state and an expanded state. The gasket pusher is moveable in a second axial direction, which is transverse to the first axial direction, and pushes the gasket. The arm operatively connects the button with the gasket pusher. Movement of the button from the projected position toward the depressed position results in pivotal movement of the arm and moves the gasket pusher in the second axial direction.

A sealing cap includes an outer cap, an inner cap and an air-tight gasket. The outer cap is to be disposed on a container. The inner cap is movably connected beneath the outer cap. The air-tight gasket is sleeved around the inner and outer caps. Two connectors extend through the outer cap and are connected to the inner cap. An operator is disposed above the outer cap and is pivotally connected to the connectors. The operator is operable to move the inner cap relative to the outer cap between a pressurizing position, where the inner cap pressurizes the air-tight gasket against the container, and an unpressurizing position, where the inner cap unpressurizes the air-tight gasket against the container.

A bottle stopper includes: a cylindrical guide having multiple slits that run parallel to a center axis along a portion of the guide; a cylindrical nut that is able to move along the center axis, the nut including multiple ridges, each ridge engaging a particular slit such that the nut is not able to rotate relative to the guide about the center axis; a knob coupled to a threaded bolt; and a set screw that secures the knob relative to the guide such that the guide and the knob move together as a rigid body along the center axis, where the threaded bolt is able to engage the nut such that the nut is moved along the center axis when the knob is rotated about the center axis. A method of sealing a container includes: inserting a plug and stopper; and rotating a knob to reach a specified sealing pressure.

CLOSURE SYSTEM FOR BOTTLES COMPRISING A STOPPER AND A SEALING ELEMENT
20180141722 · 2018-05-24 ·

The present invention relates to a closure system for a bottle designed for commercial bottling of a beverage or liquid food, preferably a wine bottle. The closure system comprising a stopper having a stopper part for introduction into a mouth of the bottle and a head part for remaining outside of the mouth, the head part having a diameter which is larger than that of the stopper part. The closure system also comprises a sealing element which is separate from the bottle and from the stopper. The closure system is configured such that the sealing element is forced against the inner wall of a mouth of the bottle, upon introduction of the stopper into the mouth, bringing the closure system into a locked state, and the stopper part comprises interlocking means to engage with counterpart interlocking means on the sealing element. The said interlocking means are configured to permit bringing the closure system into an unlocked state by an action which comprises rotating the stopper with respect to the bottle. The stopper part of the stopper also comprises a holding means configured to form an interlocking connection with counterpart holding means of the sealing element, to hold the stopper in a secured position with respect to the sealing element when the closure system is in a preassembled state.

The present invention also describes a method of preassembling the closure system for a bottle and a method of closing a bottle using the preassembled closure system.

A method of manufacturing a hydraulic plug includes providing a shell comprising a circumferential wall, a sealed end, an open end and a cylindrical cavity opening to the open end is provided. The open end of the shell is wider externally than the sealed end. A head of an expander is inserted into the cavity. The head of the expander has a convex contact surface which is rounded in an axial direction (A) of the cavity. A region of the shell adjacent its open end is plastically deformed causing material from the circumferential wall of the shell to be displaced radially inward around the head of the expander to form a constricted opening retaining the expander within the cavity. The deforming reshapes an internal surface of the cavity from a cylindrical to a non-linear shaped ramp leading up to a constricted opening.
