Unthreaded casing thread protector
A combination of a casing tube and a closed end unthreaded tubular thread protector that has an inside diameter significantly greater than the outside diameter of the casing tube is described. Further, the thread protector is typically much longer than the threaded portion of the associated casing tube such that a significant amount of axial movement of the protector relative to the casing tube is required to remove it therefrom. The casing protector is most typically comprised of a polymeric material, such as polyethylene or polypropylene, that is soft enough as to not damage or mar the threads on the casing in which it is in contact, but stiff enough in the tubular form of the protector to prevent impact loads from being transferred to the threads there beneath.

Humidity controlled musical instrument reed cap
A woodwind reed storage and maintenance device conveniently fits directly onto the reed bearing end of a musical instrument. The storage and maintenance device includes a reed storage space, humidity control device space, and a humidity gauge. The storage and maintenance device is used to maintain a reed while still located on the musical instrument at a specifically-chosen constant humidity level for optimal performing condition and maximum reed life. The storage and maintenance device protects the reed from physical damage and from damage due to changing humidity levels in the ambient surroundings. The storage and maintenance device accurately measures and displays temperature and humidity information corresponding to the reed storage space inside the device.

Tire Rain Shield
A tire rain protector made of a mushroom shaped polymer body having a reverse taper male thread formed thereon having a threadform with three varying geometric parameters. The thread thickness, thread height, and thread crest width all increase from the top of the tire rain protector body to the bottom of the body. These three features along with a thread that begins at the underside of the cap enable for a device that is easy to install and forms a secure tight seal on a tire. When installed, this dome-like device diverts rain from collecting into the concave liner (inner sidewalls) of a horizontally stacked tire.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DEBRIS-FREE NUCLEAR COMPONENT HANDLING
Packaging structures and systems are used for handling components for use in a nuclear reactor. The packaging protects the component during transport and handling and then dissolves in liquid in the nuclear reactor or fuel pool. The packaging need not be removed, as so can block flow paths or otherwise interfere with operability were it not for its dissolution. The packaging may include shock absorbers in a fuel assembly or a seal on a water rod in the assembly. Mechanical, frictional, or chemical retaining materials may be used to secure the packaging and may also dissolve in the liquid. For a light water reactor, polymers, protein gels, and plastics can all be used where they will dissolve in the water and are otherwise compatible with reactor chemistry and neutronics. Materials with higher temperatures for solubility may be used because they will dissolve when reactor operations commence.
System for protecting equipment surfaces
A system for protecting an equipment surface during manufacture, fabrication, transport, storage, and installation of equipment. The system comprises a surface cover to mechanically protect machined surfaces, as well as hermetically sealing any covered openings. An impact absorbing cover with a deforming layer can be attached with a fastener to provide further impact protection for the equipment surface. A coating comprising a solvent, a corrosion inhibitor, and, optionally, a lubricant can be used to protect the equipment surface. The system has the benefit of being lightweight to allow for easy handling and shipping, is safer to use than other methods known in the art and has the coincident benefit of protecting larger systems that equipment is a component of from both corrosion and contaminants.

Enclosed Hose End Thread Protector
Hose end protector intended to be carried on the end of a hose so as to surround and completely enclose the threaded coupling for its protection. The protector includes an elastic body having been secured by a retaining ring on a solid fitting adapted to engage with the hose. The fully enclosed protector protects the threaded coupling from damage, prevents debris and small objects from entering hose, and provides a method of diffusing flow, and is used as a means of handling hose.
