A cable tie having a strain sensing device incorporated therein. In one embodiment, the strain sensing device is a fiber Bragg grating (FBG), which is preferably molded within the strap. In this case, the cable tie further includes a socket in optical communication with the fiber Bragg grating for coupling of the cable tie to an external light source. In another embodiment, the strain sensing device is a mechanical fuse that activates in the presence of a predetermined amount of strain on the cable tie. The mechanical fuse is preferably disposed on the strap and is made of a fuse material having a mechanical strength lower than a mechanical strength of the material of the strap so that the mechanical fuse will fracture or deform earlier than the material of the underlying strap when both the fuse and the strap experience the same increasing strain.

A lid is secured to a food container with the aid of one or more handles that are mounted on the lid and/or the container. An elongated, flexible, flattened, stretchable strap overlies the lid and has a plurality of enlarged openings spaced apart along the strap. Two of the openings receive the one or more handles in a secured position.

A screw bunch includes a plurality of screws grouped together in a bunch with the enlarged head end of each screw toward a first end of the bunch and the pointed tip end of each screw toward a second end of the bunch. The screws are held together in the bunch by a band structure that extends around the bunch and that engages with the shanks of a multiplicity of the screws that are located along a perimeter of the bunch. The enlarged head ends of the screws are axially staggered. The band structure may be formed by a shrink wrap plastic band that can be separated from the bunch manually to enable individual retrieval of screws from the bunch for use. A method and machinery for production of the screw bunch is also provided.

A screw bunch includes a plurality of screws grouped together in a bunch with the enlarged head end of each screw toward a first end of the bunch and the pointed tip end of each screw toward a second end of the bunch. A lashing belt comprises a belt body having a fixed end and a free end and a fixed part connected with the fixed end of the belt body. The fixed part comprises a first head portion including a first snap hole and a first snap disposed in the first snap hole and a second head portion including a second snap hole and a second snap disposed in the second snap hole. The belt body comprises a plurality of skew teeth on a surface of the belt body, the first and second snaps respectively comprise a plurality of ratchets, and the axes of the first and second snap holes are parallel with each other.

A retainer has a first ratcheting receiver that engages a strap in a one way ratcheting relationship that allows a free end of the strap to be passed through the first ratcheting receiver and a shank to be thereby pulled toward the first ratcheting receiver but not drawn away therefrom. The first ratcheting receiver backs an extension post protruding from the retainer such that the shank is sized to pass through an opening in a wall but is prevented from being withdrawn from the opening when the retainer is urged against the wall such that the extension post occupies at least a portion of the opening. A second ratcheting receiver is affixed to the retainer and receives the free end of the strap for securing a load to the retainer after the shank has been urged toward the first ratcheting receiver to secure the retainer to the wall.

A fastener has an elastic body that extends to opposed ends, and a three dimensional sphere-like head connected to each of the ends of the elastic body. A plurality of apertures are formed through the elastic body, sized to enable one of the three dimensional sphere-like heads to be pushed through the aperture for securing the fastener. The fastener may be wrapped around two elements, and the head or heads may each be inserted through one of the apertures so that the fastener secures the two elements together.

The present invention discloses a strap system for securing a payload. The strap system includes a first fastener having a connecting crosspiece, a reversing crosspiece, and a hanger capable of attaching to the payload, and all connected together on each side by lateral members. The strap system also includes a strap attached to the connecting crosspiece of the first fastener and capable of passing around the reversing crosspiece and tightening the strap around the payload.

An embodiment of the invention provides a method for attaching a plurality of gift bags together within a binding device, where a first gift bag strap of a first gift bag is secured to a first engaging member on a middle section of the binding device. The binding device includes a first crease between an upper section and the middle section, and a second crease between the middle section and a lower section. A second gift bag strap of a second gift bag is secured to a second engaging member on the middle section. The first engaging member is larger than the second engaging member, the first gift bag strap is larger than the second gift bag strap, and the first gift bag is larger than the second gift bag. The binding device is folded at the first crease and the second crease.

Provided is a cable holder including a strap arranged in parallel with any one of a wire inserted into a car seat or a cable inserted into the seat, a fastening device which integrally couples the strap with one of the wire or the cable, and a tie which is coupled with the strap and coupled with another one of the wire or the cable.
