A package accommodating a plurality of absorbent articles is described. The package has a plurality of surfaces, including a first pair of opposing surfaces each having a seam, wherein at least one of the seams is a closing seam, wherein the closing seam extends along a direction of a width of the package, wherein the closing seam comprises opposing closing gussets; a second pair of opposing surfaces each adjacent the first pair of opposing surfaces; a front surface and an opposing rear surface, each of the front surface and rear surface being adjacent to each of the first pair and second pair of opposing surfaces, wherein the first pair, second pair, front and rear surfaces define an interior compartment of the package. The package is a laminate having a polymeric layer and a paper layer, the polymeric layer being disposed at least in the closing seam.

Bundle with different information leaflets and method for producing such a bundle

A method for producing a bundle (2) of different information leaflets (3, 4) from a sheet of flat material having at least two different sections, and a bundle (2) of such leaflets. The information leaflets (3, 4) are folded jointly and a protruding fold (14) is cut for separation of the information leaflets (3, 4).

It is known to bind items to transport pallets by wrapping them in plastic film. However, this practice is time consuming, expensive and wasteful. It is an object of a preferred form of the invention to go at least some way towards addressing this. In the preferred embodiment there is a pallet containment mesh 2 wrapped around items stacked on a pallet 1, the mesh 2 comprising an upper entrance 4, a tightening mechanism 9 and elasticated ribs 8 extending from the entrance 4 to the pallet 1. The entrance can be tightened by the tightening mechanism to a substantially closed disposition so that items cannot be removed from the pallet and the elasticated ribs provide the stack with a stabilising tension.

Package made of a laminate material

A flexible gusset package containing a plurality of items is described. The package has a front surface having no seam; a rear surface opposite the front surface; a first surface adjacent the front and rear surfaces; a second surface having a closing seam and being opposite the first surface; an opposing pair of third and fourth surfaces respectively adjacent the first and second surfaces, the third and fourth surfaces having a first and second side seams, respectively; a pair of side gussets located in the third and fourth surfaces, respectively; and a pair of closing gussets located in the second surface, wherein the surfaces cooperatively define an interior compartment of the package, wherein the package is a laminate having a film layer facing the interior compartment and a paper layer, and wherein the second surface includes an area of the film layer where the closing seam is formed.

Dispenser for particulate material

A particulate material dispenser including a longitudinally extending body having a longitudinally extending base element; a tubular element extending longitudinally from the base element such that an inner wall of the tubular element defines a first cavity; a capping element which is distanced longitudinally from an end of the tubular element; a common outer wrapper which is engaged around the base element, the tubular element and the capping element, the inner wall of the common outer wrapper defining a second cavity between the tubular element and the capping element; and snuff within both the first cavity and the second cavity. The base element and/or the tubular element is porous.

Process and device for manufacturing a pack of products comprising a handle

The present invention is directed to a process for manufacturing a pack of products (1) having a bottom side (2) and an opposite top side (3), comprising a handle (5) formed over the top side (3) and adapted to be grasped by hand, wherein the process comprises the following steps:providing the products (1) to be packaged;fitting a binding structure around the products (1) to bind them;forming a handle (5) by wrapping a plastic film (4) around the bound products (1) over at least one turn, the plastic film (4) covering at least most of the bottom side (2) and being gathered to a reduced width over the top side (3) to form the handle (5). The present invention is also directed to a device for manufacturing a pack of products (1).

Conveyable sortation bag

A method of sorting a first subset of items in an order handling center, wherein at least a majority of the items of the first subset are sized below a predetermined size limit. The method includes directing the first subset of the items through an opening into a bag having a plurality of panels of flexible material coupled together at a plurality of seams. The method includes causing the bag to assume a substantially cuboid shape as the bag is filled to capacity with the first subset of items and stacking the bag on a pallet at a staging destination within the order handling center. The staging destination is associated with a delivery route from the order handling center.
