Singer-domanski resin MMF/reimplantation device
A resin MMF/reimplantation device is provided with a dental arch bar that includes an elongated pliable splint and a plurality of individual spaced apart attachment members. The pliable splint includes an interiorly facing side surface and an exteriorly facing side surface. The pliable splint includes a curable component that cures from a moldable state to a rigid state in less than one minute upon being activated. Each of the attachment members is partially embedded in the pliable splint with each of the attachment members having a protuberance portion extending outwardly from the exteriorly facing side surface of the pliable splint.
Flexible maxillo-mandibular fixation device
A system for achieving maxillo-mandibular fixation includes a bone fixation device including a bone fixation body formed from a plurality of links. The links define corresponding crests and valleys so as to impart flexibility into the bone fixation body. Thus, the bone fixation body can be aligned with the dental arch of the mandible and maxilla as necessary, and subsequently fastened to the underlying bone. Each bone fixation device includes at least one securement location on the fixation body that can attach to a securement device, such that the securement device fixes or stabilizes the mandible and the maxilla with respect to each other.
Colored dental floss and a method for using colored dental floss
Colored dental floss and a method for using colored dental floss. The colored dental floss includes an elongated filament having a plurality of segments, wherein each segment is a distinct color. The elongated filament is disposed within an interior volume of a container. The container includes an aperture for the elongated filament to pass therethrough. The method of using colored dental floss includes the steps of preparing a lingual side of a plurality of teeth for application of a bonding agent, applying the bonding agent to the lingual side, threading the elongated filament between a desired number of adjacent teeth in sections such that the elongated filament forms a plurality of loops on the lingual side, placing a wire through the plurality of loops, tensioning the elongated filament, applying the bonding agent to a contact point between the lingual side and the wire, curing the bonding agent, and removing the elongated filament.
Flexible orthodontic splint
Provided is an orthodontic splint and related methods, which use two or more bonding pads and a flexible connector beam that deflects in response to stress, effectively reducing the amount of stress felt by the adhesive. The connector beam has a non-uniform cross-section along its length, thereby shifting the maximum stress away from the ends of the beam and toward the midpoint of the beam. Further, the connector beam attached to each base along locations remote from the outer edge of the base. These splint configurations can decrease the likelihood of bond failure and improve fatigue performance by causing stress, and associated strain, encountered during treatment to be spread more evenly along the length of the beam.
Maxillomandibular Fixation Devices
A maxillomandibular fixation (MMF) device having an arch bar with a plurality of spaced tabs and gaps, and further having apertured mounting plate members mounted onto the arch bar, each mounting plate member having a slot to receive a tab on the arch bar, whereby the mounting plate members may be repositioned laterally along the arch bar from one tab to another prior to affixing the MMF device to the maxilla or mandible of a patient in order to position the mounting plate members at locations where the underlying tooth root will not be damaged by insertion of a bone screw.
TEETH-STRAIGHTENING WIRE, DENTAL BRACES HAVING SAME, AND TEETH-STRAIGHTENING METHOD THEREFOR
Dental braces according to one embodiment of the present invention comprise: wires for straightening teeth; a coating agent coated on the outer surfaces of the wires; and fixing parts for fixing the wires, coated with the coating agent, on the surfaces of the teeth and fixing the wires such that the wires can move along the longitudinal direction of the wire, wherein the coating agent coated on the wires is removed from the wires after the coating agent is covered with the fixing part, such that a clearance gap can be formed between the fixing part and the wire, thereby enabling accurate and smooth teeth-straightening.
Multi-Layer Film With Improved Modulus Properties
The invention relates to a multi-layer, preferably co-extruded, plastic film with improved modulus properties, which is suitable, in particular, for producing three-dimensionally shaped articles.
Splint device for forming a fiducial marker for a surgical robot guidance system, and associated method
A method of implementing a splint device, and associated splint device, are provided for a guidance system of a surgical robot. A splint body includes first and second stabilizing portions extending from opposed lateral sides of a medial portion, and defines a U channel. The medial portion, or the medial portion and one of the stabilizing portions, defines a bridge portion extending along the U channel. A partition member, received by the bridge portion, extends into and longitudinally along the U channel. An adhesive material is engaged with the splint body, within the U channel. The U channel is engaged about a tooth or jaw of a patient, and urged toward the tooth or jaw, such that the partition member engages the tooth or jaw and separates the adhesive material into a first portion engaged with the first stabilizing portion and a second portion engaged with the second stabilizing portion.
MANDIBULAR REPOSITION DEVICE AND COUPLING THEREFOR
An adjustable mandibular repositioning appliance including first and second connecting members and a link arm which is pivotable about an axis wherein protrusive positioning of the mandible is provided by relative positioning of the link arm along aid axis, to kits and couplings for making a readily adjustable mandibular appliance, to a system for providing a readily adjustable mandibular repositioning appliance and methods of use.
OCCLUSION ORTHOSIS
Monobloc orthosis splint (1) for preventing mouth-breathing in an individual while his temporomandibular joint is in the rest position, comprising a first U-form half splint for the upper jaw (2) and a second U-form half splint for the lower jaw (3): both the first and second U-form half splints being made, at least partially, of plastic material and comprising posterior parts (4, 5) intended to be positioned in the molar and premolar region (ISO 3950 teeth number 14-16:24-26:34-36:44-46) of the individual mouth, at least the posterior parts of the first and second U-form half splints being hermetically assembled, wherein the splint is devoid of proximal and distal protuberances.
