EVAPORATION STRATEGY GENERATED ANTIBACTERIAL ENAMEL-LIKE FLUORAPATITE-POLYACRYLIC ACID SHEET FOR FUNCTIONAL DENTAL RESTORATION
The subject invention pertains to an evaporation strategy combined with low-molecular-weight polyacrylic acid (LPAA) to generate an antibacterial dental enamel-like structure. Polystyrene (PS) plates can be used as a removable substrate for the continuous growth of fluorapatite (FAP). The FAP-LPAA composition can be used to kill microorganisms. The LPAA contained dental enamel-like FAP provides an alternative to prevent secondary caries if a carious cavity is filled with shaped dental enamel-like FAP-LPAA.

Methods of fabricating a 3D device using ablation
A three-dimensional device is fabricated in a layer-by-layer approach using a support material. The support material is deposited in a liquid form on a surface, hardened by cooling or ultraviolet (UV) curing, and selectively ablated to create an area within which the desired structure of the device will be formed. Active material is deposited into this area, and the layer-by-layer process repeated until the three-dimensional device has been completed. Thereafter, any remaining support material is removed by water or other solvent.
PRE-FORMS AND METHODS FOR USING SAME IN THE MANUFACTURE OF DENTAL PROSTHESES
A method for manufacturing a dental restoration pre-form for use in a making a dental prosthesis is disclosed comprising providing a design of the prosthesis and a protocol for manufacturing the prosthesis and producing a dental restoration material pre-form having three dimensional (3D) characteristics based on said design of the prosthesis and steps of the protocol. There is also disclosed a method for manufacturing a dental prosthesis comprising providing dental restoration material pre-form having an associated 3D digital map, the 3D map comprising information on a spatial distribution of characteristics of the pre-form; and processing the pre-form according to a processing protocol the protocol based on a design of the prosthesis and the 3D map of the pre-form. Additionally, there is provided a system for manufacturing dental prosthesis comprising: a pre-form production unit, a pre-form processing unit, and a processor operationally coupled to the pre-form processing unit to execute a processing of the pre-form based on a selected processing protocol.

CUSTOMIZED TEMPORARY VENEERS AND METHODS OF PROVIDING THE SAME
Customized temporary veneers that are configured to be temporarily installed in a customer’s mouth and provide a desired oral appearance thereto. The customized temporary veneers include a veneer body configured to extend across at least a portion of a target region of the customer’s mouth and including oral-facing and outward-facing surfaces. The oral-facing surface is configured support the customized temporary veneer relative to the target region by engagement with one or more vestibular surfaces within the target region. A plurality of oral features define at least a portion of the outward-facing surface and are configured to present the desired oral appearance. The methods may include obtaining a representation of the target region, selecting the plurality of oral features, and creating the customized temporary veneer, which includes forming the veneer body, shaping the oral-facing surface based on the representation, and providing the plurality of oral features to the outward-facing surface.

DENTAL DEVICE
A dental device having a set of overlays wherein each overlay is dimensioned to cover a front surface of a selected human tooth so that at least one surface of the front teeth of the human are covered. An adhesive is mounted to at least a portion of the rear surface of each overlay, which may be mono or multiple layer, to secure the overlay to its associated tooth. The liners may function as cosmetic devices as well as drug delivery devices.
Method of, and system for smoothing teeth
A method of smoothing teeth by, for instance, filling in cracks, chips and eroded areas by applying calcium and/or casein and/or phosphate and a source of OH.sup.− ions thereto. The method optionally provides that very thin layer(s) of dental cement be interlaced with other applied materials, and that the results be maintained in contact with the teeth involved by application of a composition of matter that adheres to said teeth and holds the results in place, while allowing at least some permeation of saliva therethrough. The method can optionally involve application of a backing strip or tray or the like to secure the other materials in place, but this is not a requirement where the composition of matter is sufficiently securing.
