BREATHABLE PACKAGE WITH COHESIVE COLOR HEAT SEAL INDICATOR
20220280256 · 2022-09-08 · ·

A breathable package that allows a device or object disposed in the package to be sterilized, and maintains the sterile condition until the package is opened at the point of use. The package also provides a visual indication that the package seal integrity has not been compromised or that the package has been compromised or breached. The package includes a first material, such as a film, and a second non-woven material, such as non-woven high density polyethylene, that form opposing sides of the package.

High pressure processing indicator
11272722 · 2022-03-15 · ·

A device for indicating exposure to a pressure. The device may include a base layer, a plurality of microcapsules, and a coating, with the microcapsules being disposed between the base layer and the coating. The microcapsules contain a indicator material that can be released once the microcapsules burst. The microcapsules then have a compressive bursting strength that is chosen or designed to be less than a selected pressure (e.g., the pressure being that to which a particular article may be exposed during high pressure processing). Thus, when the device is subjected to a pressure greater than the compressive bursting strength, at least some microcapsules burst, the indicator material is released from the microcapsules, and the release of the indicator material can be detected by observation of the device. The device may be a label that is associated (such as by being affixed) to the article being subjected to pressure (or multiple labels being associated (such as by being affixed) to multiple articles. Alternatively, the device may be associated with an article or articles without being affixed thereto.

Wireless mechanism for detecting an open or closed container, and methods of making and using the same

An electronic device including a continuity sensor and electrical circuitry configured to detect and report the continuity state of an article, container or product packaging is disclosed. The continuity sensor includes a first substrate with first and second coils thereon, and a second substrate with a third coil thereon. The first coil has an integrated circuit electrically connected thereto. The first substrate is part of, or is attached or secured to a part of the article, container or packaging. The second substrate is another part of, or is attached or secured to another part of the article, container or packaging. One of the article, container or packaging parts is (re)movable with respect to the other part. The first and second coils have one coupling when the article, container or packaging is closed or sealed, and a different coupling when the article, container or packaging is open or unsealed.
