A pill dispensing watch with a wrist watch assembly that includes a housing that encloses a time keeping apparatus as well as a plurality of pill storage drawers and microprocessor controlled electro mechanical drawer extending assemblies that allow the user to set the time for a pill taking event and for the pill retaining drawers to each open at the time the pill needs to be taken. An apparatus for dispensing a solid oral dosage form is provided that includes one or more channels, each configured to store a plurality of units of the solid oral dosage form and having an outlet for dispensing the units therefrom. The apparatus further includes a rotatable shaft and a nut located on the shaft and configured to translate upon rotation of the shaft. The apparatus further includes one or more tines configured to translate with the nut. Each of the tine extends into a respective channel and is configured to push the units of the solid oral dosage form along the length of the respective channel to the outlet. Rotation of the shaft about its axis causes the units of the solid oral dosage form to be dispensed from the outlets of the channel(s) due to the translation of the one or more tines within the respective channel.

A method for providing a singling device of a storage and dispensing container for drug portions is provided. A singling device is adapted to a specific drug portion based on the measurement of the drug portion. The measurement is obtained by generating at least one image of a to-be-measured drug portion by a detection device and using image analysis to process the at least one image. Drug information for the specific drug portion is determined, the drug information including at least the dimensions of the specific drug portion. Based on the determined drug information, a singling device fitting the drug portion to be singularized is identified and provided for use in the storage and dispensing container. A system for identifying a singling device is also provided.

A separation device may be provided and arranged on the bottom surface with at least one channel to receive at least one medicament portion. At least one channel may have an opening facing the receiving space and an opening facing the bottom surface. The opening facing the bottom surface may be associated with a contact area on the bottom surface, over which contact area the medicament portions may be guided upon a movement of separation device. At least one recess may be arranged in the bottom surface outside of the contact area to receive contamination particles present in the container.
