Method for protecting plant products during transport, and corresponding treatment device
The protection process comprises transporting vegetable products (1) in an enclosure (3), a phyto-protective treatment being applied simultaneously by placing a quantity of a porous mineral or vegetable material (5) inside said enclosure (3), in which a liquid containing an essential oil or a constituent of an essential oil is absorbed; the porous mineral or vegetable material (5) having a liquid absorption capacity of between 5% and 30% by weight at 20° C.; the evaporation rate of the liquid absorbed in the porous mineral or vegetable material (5) being between 10 and 200 g per day and per kg of absorbed liquid at a temperature suitable for the preservation of the vegetable products and at atmospheric pressure; the porous mineral or vegetable material (5) being arranged inside at least one openwork container (7) allowing an internal atmosphere of the enclosure (3) to circulate through the openwork container (7) in contact with the porous mineral or vegetable material (5).
Container for Flowers and Method of Operation Thereof
A novel and useful container suitable for holding objects such as flowers and which may include a platform configured to be coupled to at least one flower. A body may include at least one wall that may extend between top and bottom edges and may define at least a portion of a cavity configured to receive the platform. The top edge may define a first opening leading to the cavity. A bottom wall may be located at or near the bottom edge of the body and may define a second opening leading to the cavity. A tensioner may be coupled to the platform and may form a tab that may partially extend from the platform towards the bottom wall and may be configured to be grasped by a user to urge at least a portion of the platform from the cavity towards the second opening when the tab is pulled.
Binding wrap and method for hydrating cut flowers
A binding wrap for maintaining the hydration of cut flowers is disclosed. The wrap is formed by folding a flexible, absorbent sheet over and around the stems of cut flowers. An assembly of a bouquet of cut flowers with a flexible, absorbent binding wrap folded around its stems is also disclosed as is a method of forming such a wrap.
Method for Preparing a Paper Web With a Composite Paper Mesh for Use to Produce Bags, and Composite Paper Mesh
The present invention discloses a method for preparing a paper band that incorporates a composite paper mesh, intended for the manufacture of bags for horticultural products, wherein the embodiment of the composite mesh comprises a process that includes dividing a paper reel (1) into continuous longitudinal strips (2-5), transversely segmenting a paper reel (6) to prepare cross pieces (7) which are applied on two longitudinal strips (2-5) parallel and spaced apart from each other, in successively distant positions along said strips and bonded by gluing, and applying on the support base grid structure thus obtained a mesh (10) of paper yarn which is joined to the support base by gluing, and that can be divided into portions that can be used for covering windows or openings included in the paper band, all this with the aid of automated means.
