SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TRACKING A WOOD PALLET USING AN EMBEDDED TRACKING DEVICE
20200219054 · 2020-07-09 ·

A cavity is cut into a wooden structure (e.g., stringer, block, or deckboard) of a wood pallet such that an electronic tracking device can be embedded into the wooden structure for tracking the pallet. The cavity is shaped to allow for a sufficient thickness of remaining wood material surrounding the cavity to remain strong and also to allow for sufficient thinness so wireless signals can be reliably transmitted to/from electronics within the cavity. The remaining space within the cavity around the embedded tracking device is filled with a potting material to secure and protect the tracking device within the cavity. The tracking device monitors the location of the pallet and provides location data to a back-end system over a communication channel either directly or via a local hub. The back-end system performs analytics on the location data.

WIRELESS IC TAG AND CONTAINER WITH WIRELESS IC TAG

A container with a wireless IC tag includes a container having a container body and a sealing member for sealing an opening portion of the container body; and a wireless IC tag and a cap seal attached to the container. The container body includes a neck (extending from the opening portion. The wireless IC tag includes an antenna for contactless communication, a wiring for wire break detection, and an IC chip connected to the antenna and the wiring. The cap seal includes a cylindrical member that surrounds the neck, the cylindrical member having a metal section disposed on a side face of the neck. The wireless IC tag is disposed to extend between opposite lateral sides of the neck via the sealing member and is partially sandwiched between the neck and the cylindrical member with the IC chip exposed from the cap seal.

Maintainable pallet

In one embodiment, a maintainable pallet is provided with interchangeable support structures and sensors for identifying any damage that the interchangeable support structures may experience. The maintainable pallet may include two side supports, two end supports coupled to the two side supports end-to-end to form a rectangle, a central support position between the two side supports, a plurality of top transverse support fastened onto the two side supports to form a top loading surface and the central support with two-part releasable fasteners, and two bottom transverse supports fastened to the ends of the two side supports to form a bottom surface with two-part releasable fasteners. Sensors, in some embodiments, may be embedded in the two side supports to measure, for example, acceleration, location, or other logistic information. When a damaged piece is identified, the maintainable pallet can be disassembled by unfastening the two-part releasable fasteners to remove the damaged piece; and a new interchangeable piece will replace the damaged piece.

VIRTUALLY TRANSPARENT PACKAGING SYSTEM
20200189795 · 2020-06-18 ·

A packaging system that is manufactured entirely out of recyclable materials and that allows consumers to view the items, such as food items, within the package container is disclosed. Specifically, the packaging system comprises a package container manufactured entirely out of recyclable materials, and a code identifier component positioned thereon which is linked to an image or other information of the product contained within the package container. The code identifier component is typically a 2D bar code or an RFID tag. Further, the image linked to the code identifier component can be generic, or the actual individual image of the product in the container, and the image can be associated with the product during its manufacture, or when it is packaged. The image can be viewed with a tablet, mobile phone, virtual reality headset, a provided terminal, or other suitable device.

CASE FOR SECURELY TRANSPORTING HIGH-VALUE GOODS
20200189808 · 2020-06-18 ·

A case for securely transporting high-value consumer goods includes a case body having a main cavity within which the high-value consumer goods may be stored for transporting and a lid including a door. The case body has installed or formed thereon a first linking mechanism portion and the lid has installed or formed thereon a second linking mechanism portion that interacts with the first linking mechanism portion to link and unlink the lid to the case body. The door, when closed, covers the first linking mechanism portion and the second linking mechanism portion and, when open, exposes at least one of the first linking mechanism portion and the second linking mechanism portion such that linking and unlinking of the lid to the case body is possible only when the door is open.

Flow meter water cap system
10683197 · 2020-06-16 ·

A flow meter water cap system for tracking water consumption includes a bottle cap apparatus and at least one bottle vessel. The bottle cap apparatus comprises a cap body having a central spout extension and a principal aperture extending therethrough. A cap top is slidingly coupled around the spout extension and is selectively engageable with a cylindrical stopper to seal and alternatively unseal the principal aperture. An electronics housing is coupled within a thread depression of the cap body and has a flow aperture aligned with the principal aperture. A flow meter, a CPU, a transceiver, and a battery are coupled within the cavity. The flow meter is configured to detect a volume of fluid flowing through the flow aperture and the transceiver shares information from the flow meter and the battery. Each bottle vessel comprises a bottle body having a neck that is selectively engageable with the cap body.

Package laminate comprising a multilayer laminate with an outer layer having at least one carrier layer, an electrically conductive barrier layer and a top layer, characterized in that a functional element is arranged on a first side of the barrier layer and in that an electrical element is arranged on the second side of the barrier layer remote from the functional element, the functional element being connected to the electrical element via at least two mutually insulated electrical conductors.

Lid for beverage container
10676253 · 2020-06-09 · ·

A lid for a beverage container is described. The lid has a basin that is designed to enhance the user's olfactory experience when drinking a beverage from the container and lid. As the user tilts the container and lid to take a drink, the beverage pours through an opening on the basin valley and flows across a sipping surface area to the user's mouth, thus allowing the beverage to aerate, evaporate, and cool. The basin is sized and dimensioned to channel and concentrate the vapor rising from the beverage towards the user's nose as the user sips the beverage. The basin and the opening are sized and dimensioned to provide a comfortable and secure feeling when drinking hot beverages. In this manner, the lid enhances the drinker's olfactory experience and provides better controllability of the flow of a hot beverage to prevent burn injuries.

A pallet has a deck, a skid and a plurality of blocks, spacing the skid from the deck. The blocks comprise spacer portions and sleeve portions, wherein the sleeve portions may extend above and below the spacer portions. The pallet constructed in this way can advantageously be made in any conventional size to meet the relevant norm or standard, while benefitting from the fact that the sleeve portions protect the edges of the deck and/or skid from impact. Furthermore, any impact imparted on the blocks is transmitted by the respective sleeve to the deck and/or skid. A logistic system is also described.
