The method includes:extracting a plurality of feature points from the tooth model based on a curvature algorithm, pre-processing each of the feature points, and outputting a contour point group (S1); obtaining a target reference line from a pre-stored reference line pool withthe target reference line being matched witha shape parameter of the tooth model (S2); fitting the target reference line based on the contour point group by iterative operation, to generate a fitting reference line (S3); and performing smoothing processing on the fitting reference line by using a dimensionality reduction algorithm, to output the gum line (S4).

A method of reconstructing a gingival profile comprising generating, by a processor, a defined cross section of an arch form model extending through a tooth axis of a given tooth and a defined gingiva region; identifying within a tooth cross section profile of the defined cross section a set of reference points for generating a parametric curve defining at least a portion of the tooth cross section profile; generating the parametric curve based on the set of reference points; generating a first undefined cross section of the arch form model extending through the tooth axis of the given tooth and an defined gingiva region; constructing in the first undefined cross section, at least a portion of the parametric curve, thereby generating a first reconstructed gingival profile, and updating the arch form model with the first reconstructed gingival profile; and storing the arch form model including the reconstructed gingival profile.
ORTHODONTAL CORRECTION MONITORING AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USE
A system for preparing a prescription for the use of one or more orthodontal correction devices, such as aligners, which allows for remote interaction and guidance by dental professionals with their patients. The aligner may include a sensor to detect when it is being worn for tracking compliance and determining when the next correction device within the prescription should replace the current correction device. A software application associated with the patient allows them to view and track their progress and to send data to their dental professional, and similarly the dental professional is alerted by the present invention when compliance issues or other issues may arise requiring intervention.
