SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CORRECTING MALOCCLUSION
An orthodontic remodeling system includes an extraoral vibratory source coupled to a bite plate, where the extraoral vibratory source is operable to vibrate the bite plate at a frequency in a range of 0.1 to 400 Hz. The bite plate is configured to deliver cyclic forces simultaneously to teeth of the maxillary and mandibular arches, and the bite plate and the extraoral vibratory source are held during use only by clamping with the teeth. A battery is operable to power the extraoral vibratory source, and a processor is configured to control the extraoral vibratory source. Electronic media is operable to capture data indicating usage duration and usage frequency to allow patient compliance to be determined.
Direct fabrication of attachment templates with adhesive
Systems, methods, and devices for producing orthodontic appliances are provided. In one aspect, an orthodontic appliance comprises an outer shell comprising a plurality of cavities shaped to receive the patient's teeth and generate one or more of a force or a torque in response to the appliance being worn on the patient's teeth. The orthodontic appliance can comprise an inner structure having a stiffness different than a stiffness of the outer shell. The inner structure can be positioned on an inner surface of the outer shell in order to distribute the one or more of a force or a torque to at least one tooth received within the plurality of cavities.
MINIMALLY INVASIVE METHOD TO ENHANCE TOOTH MOVEMENT VELOCITY
A method for increasing the velocity of at least one moving tooth along a jaw bone, the method including positioning an abrasive bur with a desired diameter between adjacent roots of the at least one tooth in the jaw bone, the abrasive bur being rotatable by a handheld device, rotating the abrasive bur with the handheld device, applying the rotating bur to penetrate the gingiva tissue covering the space between the adjacent roots of the at least one tooth in the jaw to remove a desired amount of gingival tissue and expose the underlying jaw bone, and contacting the bone with the rotating bur to abrasively vibrate the jaw bone adjacent to at least one tooth without drilling through the cortical bone.
VIBRATION DEVICE FOR DENTAL USE AND ORTHODONTIC CORRECTION METHOD
A vibration device for dental use is provided, including a support member and a vibration transmission member. The support member is adapted to fit in the space between the upper and lower teeth on one side of the mouth, and includes a frame and an elastic layer. The frame is configured to maintain a shape defining an inner cavity having a first opening formed on the first side of the support member and a second opening formed on the second side of the support member. The elastic layer covers the surfaces of the frame. The vibration transmission member has a connector end for coupling to a vibration source and an insertion end configured to be inserted into the inner cavity of the support member so as to transmit the vibration energy generated by the vibration source to the upper and lower teeth of the patient.
DENTAL APPLIANCES, DENTAL SOLUTION SELECTION, AND ENHANCEMENTS AND SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF PRODUCING THE SAME
A method of producing a retention piece having a therapeutic package configured to provide a desired therapeutic profile for the recipient, the method including: obtaining data descriptive of mandibular and maxillary arches of the recipient; specifying an appropriate guidance package based on the desired therapeutic profile for the recipient; modeling a virtual representation of at least one retention piece configured to fit at least one of the mandibular and maxillary arches; and generating data that can be used by a computer aided machining (CAM) process to create at least one physical retention piece comprising the specified therapeutic package configured to provide the desired therapeutic profile.
VARIABLE-FREQUENCY ORAL VIBRATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A dental device includes a mouthpiece configured to sit against occlusal surfaces of a patient's teeth and a motor connected to the mouthpiece. The motor is configured to vibrate the mouthpiece at a frequency between 60 and 120 Hz and an acceleration between 0.03G and 0.06G such that the mouthpiece places an axial vibratory force on the occlusal surfaces.
LIMITED WEAR ALIGNER AND TREATMENT METHODS
A method for orthodontic treatment includes providing an aligner configured to move a tooth of a user and providing a movement stimulus associated with the aligner where the movement stimulus is configured to move the tooth of the user substantially the same amount when the aligner is worn by the user less than twenty-two hours a day according to a treatment plan specifying a total number of treatment days than the aligner alone would be able to move the tooth when worn for at least twenty-two hours a day for the total number of treatment days.
LIMITED WEAR ALIGNER AND TREATMENT METHODS
A method for orthodontic treatment includes providing a first set of aligners to a user. The first set of aligners includes a first aligner, a second aligner, and a third aligner configured to move a tooth of a user. The first aligner, the second aligner, and the third aligner are created using a single physical dental model and are substantially the same shape. The first aligner has a first thickness, the second aligner has a second thickness, and the third aligner has a third thickness. The first thickness is different than the second thickness and the third thickness, and the second thickness is at least substantially equivalent to the third thickness.
Micro vibrating devices for dental use
Described is a vibrating device for delivering energy to at least a portion of a dental appliance. The vibrating device may be inserted into a biting element or attached to a biting element to apply vibrations to the dental appliance to aid in aligning a user's teeth.
