The present subject matter disclosed herein a dentofacial orthopedic device comprises a metal brace, an adjustable center screw rotatably fitted in a slot of the metal brace, and an orthodontic bracket. The metal brace anchored to the occipital region of the skull forming a ring-shaped loop around a patient's mouth. The orthodontic bracket is of Y shape, where two open ends are anchored to maxilla bone structure of the patient and a tail is attached to the metal brace through adjustable center screw. The adjustable center screw can be rotate to apply displacement force to the orthodontic bracket to cause angular or linear displacement.

An orthodontic appliance for installation on an archwire is described. The orthodontic appliance has two archwire sliding parts, for sliding along an archwire, a telescoping assembly linking the two archwire sliding parts to one another, an external force conveyer and a spring secured to one of the archwire sliding parts. The telescoping assembly is offset from the archwire on which it is to be installed. A method for exerting pressure on a target orthodontic bracket that is connected to adjacent orthodontic brackets by an archwire is also described. The method uses the described orthodontic appliance.

A method of treating a maxillary deficiency in a patient in need thereof comprises coupling a first bone anchor to the buccal surface of the maxilla of the patient, coupling a second bone anchor to the buccal surface of the maxilla of the patient, attaching a device to the first bone anchor and the second bone anchor, and applying an expansion force through the device to the maxilla. A device comprises a facebow and a lateral attachment portion, coupled to the facebow. The facebow includes a first extra-oral attachment portion and a second extra-oral attachment portion, configured to be coupled to an external anchorage or protraction device, a first intra-oral attachment portion, configured to be coupled to a first bone anchor, and a second intra-oral attachment portion, configured to be coupled to a second bone anchor. The device may be coupled to an external anchorage or protraction device.
