Systems, methods, and devices for improved orthodontic treatment of a patient's teeth are provided herein. A method may include determining a movement path to move one or more teeth from an initial arrangement to a target arrangement, determining an appliance geometry for an orthodontic appliance comprising a shell and one or more integrally formed components, wherein the shell comprises a plurality of teeth receiving cavities shaped to move the one or more teeth from the initial arrangement to the target arrangement, and generating instructions for direct fabrication of the orthodontic appliance, wherein the instructions are configured to cause direct fabrication of the shell using a first material and direct fabrication of the one or more integrally formed components using a second, different material.

An orthodontic bracket with an adjustable hook designed to facilitate bending. The orthodontic bracket includes a bracket body mountable to a tooth and an adjustable hook extending from the bracket body, the adjustable hook comprising a stem base structure a bend region extending from the stem base structure, a neck region extending from the bend region, and a head extending from the neck region. In some embodiments, the adjustable hook has a length, L.sub.1, measured from a bottom portion of the stem base structure to the head, and a length, L.sub.2, measured from a bottom portion of the neck region of the hook stem to a free end of the head, wherein L.sub.2 is greater than or equal to 60% of L.sub.1.

The geometry and material properties of the shell is configured such that the appliance adjusts position of the teeth of the upper jaw of the patient during use. The geometry and material properties of the segment is configured such that the appliance adjusts position of the hard palate of the upper jaw of the patient during use. Additionally or alternatively, one or more appliances can be configured to contact the teeth of the lower jaw and a mandibular bone portion disposed below the gingiva of the teeth of lower jaw and adjust position of the teeth and the mandibular bone portion of the lower jaw of the patient during use.
