Systems, methods, and devices for improved orthodontic treatment of a patient's teeth are provided herein. In some aspects, a method for fabricating an orthodontic appliance for treating a patient's teeth is disclosed. The method may comprise determining a movement path to move a tooth from an initial arrangement towards a target arrangement; determining a force system to move the tooth along the movement path; determining a variable gable bend to produce the force system; determining a geometry for a tooth receiving cavity of the appliance based on the variable gable bend; and generating instructions for fabricating the appliance having a tooth receiving cavity formed according to the geometry for the tooth receiving cavity.

LOCKABLE ORTHODONTIC APPLIANCE

A lockable orthodontic appliance, comprising a main body. An arch wire groove is formed on the main body, the main body is provided with a movable accessory, the accessory comprises a traction portion and a space occupying portion, the accessory can move between an available position and an unavailable position, and during the movement, the traction portion can drive the space occupying portion to enter the arch wire groove; or a traction member and a space occupying member are provided on the main body, the traction member can move, and during the movement, the traction member drives the space occupying member to enter the arch wire groove. The orthodontic appliance may have a plurality of states, the first is a locked state, the second is a traction state, the third is a traction locked state, and the fourth is a non-locked and non-traction state.

Orthodontic system with variably-sized archwire slot

The disclosure relates to an orthodontic system and treatment method, including an arrangement of orthodontic brackets against the patient's teeth such that the depth of the respective archwire slots of the brackets generally increases from the anterior teeth moving toward the posterior teeth. The gradual increase of the archwire slot in the bracket arrangement provides for finer control over the movement of the anterior teeth, while providing sufficient control and freedom of movement for the posterior teeth.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT PLANNING USING UNIVERSAL COMMANDS AND PROTOCOLS USING THOSE COMMANDS

A system for orthodontic treatment planning. The system comprises a processor and memory. Computer-program instructions cause the system to display a user interface on a display. The user interface is for a user to input a prescription for treatment of the patient. The user interface provides a plurality of commands for selection. Each command is a one-word instruction, a two-word instruction, or a three-word instruction based on orthodontic nomenclature. The system receives selected two or more of the plurality of commands into the prescription for treatment. The two or more selected commands are to be applied according to a predetermined protocol to the patient's teeth. A database is configured to receive the prescription for treatment of the patient and to contain a plurality of other prescriptions for treatment of other patients. The database is configured to receive a plurality of other prescriptions from a plurality of users of the system.

An orthodontics cover shields a patient's mouth from orthodontic appliances. The orthodontics cover comprises an arched shaped strip that has a protective outer perimeter to shield the patient's mouth. The strip has an inner perimeter having a longitudinally extending channel. The channel is formed on the inner perimeter of the strip, between opposed longitudinal ends. The channel covers the exterior surface of the patient's orthodontics appliances, such as braces or wires. The opposed longitudinal ends of the strip have lateral side flanges that cover an end portion of the patient's orthodontics appliances, such as the end of an orthodontics wire, to prevent engagement with the patient's mouth.
