A bag coupler is attached to the mouth and is configured to releasably couple a bag to the mouth. A chute includes an elongated base extending from the lower wall of the mouth and leads into the mouth opening. Sidewalls upstand from opposing sides of the elongated base. The chute further includes an open front portion and an open top portion. The chute delivers the debris into the bag while the mouth keeps the bag open.

In some embodiments, a method for operating waste chutes comprises: receiving, using a hardware processor of a waste chute device, an identity associated with a user of the waste chute device; in response to receiving the identity associated with the user, allowing, using the hardware processor, a door of the waste chute device to be opened; determining, using the hardware processor, a number of items and at least one type associated with the items that have been placed in an opening of the waste chute device; determining, using the hardware processor, that the door of the waste chute device has been closed; updating, using the hardware processor, information associated with the user based on the number of items and the at least one type of items that have been placed in the opening of the waste chute device; and providing, using the hardware processor, the user with the updated information.

The first input point and/or the second input point is adapted to include an indicator and/or signal, with which in the method a user is guided and/or instructed to feed in material from the input aperture of the second input point of the feed-in station, when the first input point is in a state in which it cannot receive material. An input point arrangement is used in the method.

Implementations of a waste receptacle are provided. The waste receptacle is an outdoor container configured to temporarily store dog waste, in particular, disposable plastic bags containing dog waste. In some implementations, the waste receptacle is configured to hold a trash bag so that it can be easily filled with dog waste and/or other refuse. In some implementations, the waste receptacle comprises a body, a trash chute member having a hinged cover that provides selective access to the interior of the body, a lid configured to cover the trash chute member, and a keeper configured to secure the mouth of a trash bag about a conduit extending from the bottom side of the trash chute member. In some implementations, the waste receptacle may further comprise a foot pedal that is operably coupled to the lid. In this way, the lid can be opened by stepping on the foot pedal.
