Device for arranging and holding therein contaminated objects
Device for arranging and holding therein contaminated objects, particularly contaminated objects such as contaminated nappies. The device includes a container and a lid. The lid includes a hollow tube, open on at least an outer end, in which a body is arranged in reciprocally movable manner. The lid can pivot relative to the container between a first position, in which an object can be arranged in the tube from the outside, and a second position, in which the body can move downward in the tube under the influence of the force of gravity in order to push the object into the container. The device further includes a pedal and a releasing device, where the releasing device pivots the lid from the second position to the first position during a displacement of the pedal due to a pedal force exerted on the pedal.

Waste chute devices and methods for using the same
Waste chute devices and methods for using the same are provided. In some embodiments, a method for operating waste chutes comprises: receiving, using a hardware processor of a waste chute device, an identity associated with a user of the waste chute device; in response to receiving the identity associated with the user, allowing, using the hardware processor, a door of the waste chute device to be opened; determining, using the hardware processor, a number of items and at least one type associated with the items that have been placed in an opening of the waste chute device; determining, using the hardware processor, that the door of the waste chute device has been closed; updating, using the hardware processor, information associated with the user based on the number of items and the at least one type of items that have been placed in the opening of the waste chute device; and providing, using the hardware processor, the user with the updated information.

Leaf collection apparatus
An apparatus for the collection of debris such as leaves and other yard debris having a flat-pack configuration and a hoop-like configuration. In a hoop-like configuration, the apparatus allows the fixation of a bag such that the bag is held open and allows the user to dispose debris through the apparatus and into the bag.

Hands Free Storage Receptacle
A storage receptacle can include a storage bin and a pedal mounted to the receptacle as well as a hopper. A method of using the storage receptacle can include receiving a force on a hopper handle of a hopper of a storage receptacle, the hopper having a cable connection point connected to a cable, based on the force, rotating the hopper to enable a user to place material in a storage bin of the storage receptacle, wherein the rotating causes the cable to have slack and preventing the cable having the slack from coming out of a groove in a pulley via a shroud positioned over at least a portion of the pulley.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COLLECTING MEDICAL WASTE THAT MONITORS THE WASTE FOR OBJECTS THAT MAY HAVE BEEN INADVERTENTLY DISCARDED
A mobile cart that holds a bag for receiving solid waste generated during a medical or surgical procedure. The cart includes a sensor that monitors whether or not an object containing metal is placed in the bag. A processor monitors the signal output by the sensor. If the sensor signal indicates that an object with a minimal amount of metal is placed in the bag, the processor momentarily asserts an audible alarm and continuously asserts a light alarm. The light alarm remains asserted until turned off. If, while the light alarm is on, the sensor signal indicates a second object with the minimal amount of waste is placed in the container, the processor again momentarily asserts the audible alarm. This provides notice that it may be necessary to investigate the contents of the bag to determine if not one but two or more objects were inadvertently discarded.
