REAR LOADING REFUSE VEHICLE
A refuse vehicle body includes a hopper configured to receive refuse and a storage container configured to store compacted refuse. A tailgate is coupled to a rearward facing side of the refuse vehicle body and is movable between closed and opened positions. The refuse vehicle body includes a rear loading assembly configured to (i) engage a refuse container at a rear side of the refuse vehicle body, (ii) lift the refuse container over a top end of the tailgate, and (iii) rotate the refuse container above the hopper such that the refuse container is unloaded into the hopper. The refuse vehicle body further includes a refuse packing assembly configured to transfer refuse from the hopper and compact said refuse in the storage container.
PACK THROUGH EJECT PANEL
There is disclosed a waste collecting device having a container for receiving waste therein. The container has an end wall and an ejector panel. The container encloses a waste receiving volume. The ejector panel has an opening therethrough for allowing access to the waste receiving volume for receiving the waste. The waste collecting device further has a compactor outside the waste receiving volume being operable for pushing the waste in the container through the opening. The ejector panel is movable within the waste receiving volume and relative to a floor of the container for pushing the waste out of the waste receiving volume. A method of operating a waste collecting device is also disclosed.
BODY ASSEMBLY FOR A REFUSE VEHICLE
A refuse vehicle includes a chassis and a body supported by the chassis. The body defines a collection chamber that is configured to store refuse therein. The body includes a bottom wall and a sub-frame assembly. The sub-frame assembly includes a pair of frame rails and a plurality of cross-members. The pair of frame rails is coupled to the bottom wall and extending in a longitudinal direction along the bottom wall. The plurality of cross-members is engaged with the bottom wall and extend in a lateral direction that is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. Each of the plurality of cross-members extends through the pair of frame rails. The plurality of cross-members each has a uniform cross-sectional shape along their entire length.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR ASSEMBLING REFUSE VEHICLES
A method of assembling a refuse vehicle includes receiving a chassis and one or more refuse vehicle body components; assembling one or more sub-assemblies from the one or more refuse vehicle body components; painting the one or more sub-assemblies and the chassis; and after painting the one or more sub-assemblies and the chassis, coupling the sub-assemblies and the chassis to a body of the refuse vehicle.
REFUSE COLLECTION VEHICLE HAVING BOLT-ON FENDERS
To provide additional flexibility for a refuse collection vehicle, a removable fender panels are used on an outside portion of the main collection body. The removable fender panels are formed to have a sloped section that will cause rain, snow and other materials to naturally drain from the panel, thus helping to maintain the appearance of the vehicle. Since the fender panels are removable, they can be easily replaced when excessive signs of wear begin to appear. Further, this provides further flexibility during the manufacturing process since the panels can be manufactured from a wide variety of materials including steel, stainless steel, aluminum and many non-metallic materials.
Refuse hopper
A refuse hopper is disclosed which may be mounted in the bed of a pick-up truck, a flat-bed truck or on a trailer. The refuse hopper includes a horizontally disposed support frame having a rear end, a front end, a first side and a second side. A hopper is pivotally mounted on the support frame and has a front end, a rear end, a front side and a second side. The refuse hopper is selectively movable between a horizontally disposed loading position and a dumping position. A compactor plate is pivotally mounted to the hopper and is movable between an upwardly extending loading position to a refuse packing position within the hopper. The hopper has a volume of about 2-4.5 cubic yards.
Refuse collection vehicle with improved serviceability
A collection body is designed and coordinated so that equipment and frequently serviced components can be easily accessed by any operator while also staying away from lanes of traffic. The collection body is further designed so the main hopper is substantially rectangular, so that sidewalls are continuous and support operation of ejection pushers and related component. This configuration is also coordinated with the collection hopper and other collection mechanisms, so that overall coordination of all components is efficient and effective.
EJECTOR FOR REFUSE VEHICLE
A refuse vehicle includes a chassis and a body assembly. The body assembly includes a series of panels configured to contain a volume of refuse therein and an ejector. The panels define a hopper volume and a storage volume. The ejector is configured to fully eject refuse from the storage volume. The ejector includes a wall at least partially defining an opening and a coupling pivotally and fixedly coupling a panel to the wall. The wall is movable within the storage volume. The panel is repositionable relative to the wall between a closed position and an open position. The panel extends at least partially across the opening when in the closed position and is angularly offset relative to the closed position when in the open position.
