Universal aligning adaptor system and methods
A system for dental implant restoration is provided. It includes universal aligning adaptors and prosthetic components having co-operable indices, which together form a translational, integrating system which aligns, synchronizes, and references the prosthetic components about an implant's central axis of rotation. Rotation of an adaptor about a prosthetic component, with its reference point becoming aligned to a predetermined reference point on the prosthetic component, followed by the rotation of the adaptor/prosthetic component assembly about the implant, situates the prosthetic component in a predetermined position such that all other prosthetic components become synchronized to the adaptor's reference point. The prosthetic component is mechanical for clinical or lab bench use, or is virtual for restoration design in a software program, prior to milling prosthetic abutments or devices. Abutments, healing caps and screw access holes are realigned to preferred positions and synchronized with minimal deviation from the ideal direction.

A computer-implemented method includes obtaining a digital 3D representation of a patient's jaw comprising a first and second target location, providing a digital first dental element and a digital second element, respectively being digital 3D representations of a first dental element for placement on the first target location and a second dental element for placement on the second target location, arranging the digital first dental element on the digital representation of the first target location and the digital second dental element on the digital representation of the second target location, determining contact surfaces of the first and second dental element based on an insertion direction of the digital control guide design, and generating a digital control guide design comprising a digital 3D representation of the gum facing surface of the control guide based on a part of the contact surfaces of both the at least first and second dental element.
METHOD OF IMPLANTING DENTAL RESTORATION
In order to improve the reliability of a dental restoration, the present invention provides a method of implanting the dental restoration. The method includes a first operation in which a three-dimensional planning image is generated in which a scanning image overlaps and matches to a computed tomography (CT) image, a plurality of pieces of implantation information of implants are set along a dental arch in the three-dimensional planning image, and an implanting guide device is designed and manufactured, a second operation in which an alveolar bone is flattened by being guided by the implanting guide device, the implants are implanted, and a holder device including a holder abutment and a fixing bar is fixed to an upper side of the implant, a third operation in which a temporary denture is corrected to be occluded between upper and lower jaws to form a temporary mounting portion in which the holder device is inserted into an inner surface portion thereof, a fourth operation in which a corrected scanning image corrected to expose three-dimensional exterior information of the temporary mounting portion to the outside is obtained from a scanning image of the temporary denture, and the three-dimensional exterior information of the temporary mounting portion is replaced and swapped with a virtual holder device, and a fifth operation in which a mount part is formed in an inner surface portion on the basis of the virtual holder device, and an artificial tooth part is fixed to an artificial gum part to which a clip engaged with the fixing bar is fixed so as to manufacture a final dental restoration.
Healing components for use in taking impressions and methods for making the same
The present invention provides a healing abutment for attachment to a dental implant with marking locations thereon. The marking locations either lack or have markers that provide a binary code system for retrieving unique information about the healing abutment and the underlying implant.
DENTAL SCANNING POST AND METHOD FOR THE MOUNTING AND FIXING THEREOF ON A DENTAL IMPLANT OR A REPLICA OF SAME
Dental scan abutment for being assembled and fixed to an implant, provided with an indicator of the radial angular position of the anti-rotation means of the implant. The abutment comprises:
a main body provided with the indicator and with means for connection to the implant, and
means for fixing to the implant formed by a fixing shaft and by an upper head, the lower end of the shaft being a threaded end provided with a thread cutting complementary to the internal cutting of the threaded hole of the implant. The main body is configured for housing and longitudinally displacing the fixing shaft therethrough, the threaded lower end of the shaft being able to be immersed in the interior of the main body or project from the lower section thereof, the complete removal of the fixing shaft by simple longitudinal displacement being prevented by mechanical stop.
CBCT imaging of impression having implant locator
Embodiments provide the capability to determine a digital 3D model of a patient's teeth obtains projection images acquired by scanning a negative impression of the patient's teeth using a computed tomographic imaging apparatus, where the impression includes a radio-opaque transfer element for a dental implant or crown post. One exemplary method reconstructs, from the projection images, an air volume model within the reconstructed volume and bounded by a transition surface defined according to the negative impression. A transfer element volume model of the transfer element is defined, segmented from the air volume model and from the transition surface. A combined digital 3D model of the patient's teeth is formed according to the air volume model and transfer element volume model. At least a portion of the combined digital 3D model of the teeth is displayed.
Centric relation bite registration tool
The centric relation bite registration tool is a tool for recording the centric relation of a patient's mandible in order to obtain proper occlusion to fabricate a full mouth fixed dental prosthesis. The centric relation bite registration tool includes both a vertically adjustable portion and a horizontally adjustable portion. The vertically adjustable portion is adapted for mounting in a dental implant in the patient's mandibular arch, and the horizontally adjustable portion is adapted for mounting in a dental implant in the patient's maxillary arch. The vertically adjustable portion and the horizontally adjustable portion are releasably secured to one another between the mandibular and maxillary arches providing a single tool which is both horizontally and vertically adjustable for recordation of the proper occlusion between the patient's mandible and maxilla.
Methods, systems and accessories useful for procedures relating to dental implants
A method and system are provided for manufacturing a physical dental model. A virtual model is provided representative of at least a portion of the intra-oral cavity including at least one dental implant implanted therein, and the virtual model includes a virtual portion representative of each dental implant. The virtual spatial disposition of each such virtual portion is determined with respect to the virtual model, corresponding to a real spatial disposition of the respective implant with respect to the intra oral cavity. A physical model is then manufactured based on the virtual model, the physical model including a physical analog corresponding to each implant at a respective physical spatial disposition with respect to the physical model corresponding to the respective virtual spatial disposition of the respective virtual portion with respect to the first virtual model as already determined. In some embodiments, a jig is provided configured for maintaining a desired physical spatial disposition between the physical analog and a cavity of the physical dental model at least until the physical analog is affixed in the cavity.

Methods for taking a scan of a patient's oral cavity for use in fabricating a dental prosthesis. Such methods may include providing a healing cap configured to be received within a subgingival void of a given tooth position, taking a first scan of the healing cap, wherein the first scan is taken outside of a patient's oral cavity, seating the healing cap, taking a second scan, which is an intraoral scan of the healing cap and surrounding surfaces once the healing cap is seated, taken inside the patient's oral cavity; and integrating the first scan of the healing cap with the intraoral second scan of the healing cap and the surrounding surfaces into an overall oral cavity scan. A third scan, (e.g., 3D cone beam scan), can also be taken, which is overlaid or otherwise integrated with the first and second scans, for use in fabrication of a dental prosthesis.
