A recycling automate for receiving a spent item such as a bag or a piece of clothing, said automate comprising: an opening through which the item can be entered; a reader for registering an identification; a printer for producing a deposit receipt and/or a card reader for transfer of a token or payment of deposit for the spent item entered into the automate; a compartment for storing the spent items that has been entered through the opening, which compartment has an opening through which the automate can be emptied for the spent items.

An apparatus, system and method for detecting and managing data relating to a weight of a waste bin (including a recycling bin) comprising a plurality of load cells rigidly retained, in use, relative to the waste bin by one or more retaining means; wherein the apparatus is configured and dimensioned such that, in use, a portion of the bin is disposed substantially above, and bears down on, each of the plurality of load cells; and wherein the apparatus is configured to, in use, be communicable with means for recording and transmitting data from the plurality of load cells. The system further comprises the means for recording and transmitting the data from the plurality of load cells and a receiver for receiving data transmitted from said means, said receiver being communicable with, or integrated with, an electronic device of at least one prespecified recipient, to enable the transmitted data to be displayed to said at least one prespecified recipient. The method comprises at predetermined recording intervals, recording data from the plurality of load cells; at predetermined transmission intervals, transmitting the recorded data to the receiver; and then displaying the transmitted data on the electronic device of the at least one prespecified recipient.

A system is disclosed for auditing waste retrieved by a service vehicle. The system may have an optical sensor mountable onboard the service vehicle and configured to capture image data associated with the waste as the waste falls into the service vehicle during completion of a waste service activity. The system may also have at least one controller in communication with the optical sensor and being configured to generate at least one of an alert and a recommendation regarding a mix of the waste based on the image data.

Systems, methods and devices are provided for transporting, tracking and managing waste or recyclable materials, which may include one or more devices for transporting waste or recyclable material, such a via a bin that comprises a base; and a collapsible sleeve movable between an open state and a collapsed state, wherein the collapsible sleeve in the open state interfaces in a nesting manner with the base to form a bin for receiving and transporting waste material.

Aspects of the disclosure provide a method for presenting prompt information that recommends removing contents from a garbage container. The method includes acquiring garbage information and garbage decaying benchmark information of the contents in the garbage container; determining whether the contents in the garbage container have mold or odor based on the garbage information and the garbage decaying benchmark information; and presenting the prompt information that recommends removing the contents from the garbage container when it is determined that the contents in the garbage container have mold or odor.

Provided is a waste sorting apparatus having a receiving compartment for receiving at least one object disposed by a user, an object detection system associated with the receiving compartment and configured to classify the at least one object in one of a plurality of predetermined types of object, and a sorting system configured for selectively directing the at least one object to a respective one of a plurality of collecting receptacles based on the classification of the at least one object. The object detection system identifies a location of the at least one object in the receiving compartment. The sorting system has holding devices for holding one or more of the at least one object in the receiving compartment when selectively directing one or more other of the at least one object to a respective collecting receptacle, in case multiple objects of different types are detected in the receiving compartment.

This disclosure provides methods, devices, and systems that may include a container housing having at least one opening, as well as a camera configured to capture a visual input relating to a deposited object placed into the at least one opening. A light source may be configured to illuminate the deposited object, and a sorting plate configured to divert the deposited object into one of a plurality of containers. A motor may be configured to move the sorting plate, and a processor system configured to: receive the visual input from the camera, classify the deposited object based on the visual input, and cause the motor to move the sorting place to divert the deposited object to the one of the plurality of containers based on the classification.

A method for sealing refuse in a sealed chamber. The method includes providing an opening to deposit refuse into a chamber formed of a material that is partially sealed, identifying when refuse is deposited into the partially sealed chamber, activating a sealing assembly after refuse is deposited into the chamber to seal the refuse in the chamber defined by the material, executing a cutting procedure to separate the sealed chamber from the remaining material, the cutting procedure creating a second chamber being formed by partially sealed material, and drawing a length of the material from a reservoir containing tubular shirred material with an extraction assembly.

A disposal box for used playing cards has a cuboid shape provided with six surfaces, namely, front and back surfaces, left and right surfaces, and upper and lower surfaces in an assembled state. The disposal box includes a slit that is provided in at least one of the six surfaces and enables the used playing cards to be inserted into the disposal box. The disposal box further includes viewing windows that are provided with a plurality of holes having a size at which the playing card cannot be taken out, and can allow the used playing cards contained in the disposal box to be visually recognized. The disposal box is formed of a paper or plastic material, and can be discarded in a state in which the used playing cards are contained in the disposal box.
