The first mode and the second mode may operate concurrently and can be accessed separately via different mechanisms. A switch mechanism may alternate between the first mode and the second mode. Alternatively, a pedal includes a first pedal mechanism corresponding to the first mode and a second pedal mechanism corresponding to the second mode.

Accordingly, a used feminine hygiene product may be placed in the interior space of the container housing in the open position of the housing top cover without having to touch the container housing in order to open the housing top cover. The housing bottom cover may be selectively opened to facilitate removal of the used feminine hygiene products from the interior space.

Disclosed herein is a document destruction lid for preventing the retrieval of documents inserted through the lid. The lid comprises a skirt extending around a periphery of the lid for securing the lid to a container. A vertical sidewall extending downward from a top surface of the lid, having a height greater than or equal to 70% of a height of a lip of the container. A security structure for depositing the documents extends from a top surface of the lid. The security structure comprises a front wall, a horizontal slot, a rear wall extending upwards from the top surface of the lid opposite the front wall, and a top surface joining the front wall to the rear wall. The front wall and rear wall are angled away from each other to make document retrieval difficult while still allowing easy disposal of the documents.

An in-ground apparatus includes a receptacle and a liner into which the receptacle can be placed and removed. The liner may be a molded plastic liner having a tapering body to permit stacking. The lower margin includes a set of seats for anchor fittings in the form of re-bar prongs that, when installed, extend radially outwardly from the liner. The seats, and hence the prongs, are located upwardly of the bottom edge of the liner so that they are embedded above and below when concrete is poured around the bottom of the liner. The receptacle is formed to contain liquids, such as used cooking oil and hot grease. It has a heating element wrapped around the receptacle, and insulation between the receptacle and the liner. There is an internally concealed pump-out with a swiveling access fitting.

WASTE CHUTE DEVICES AND METHODS FOR USING THE SAME

Waste chute devices and methods for using the same are provided. In some embodiments, a method for operating waste chutes comprises: receiving, using a hardware processor of a waste chute device, an identity associated with a user of the waste chute device; in response to receiving the identity associated with the user, allowing, using the hardware processor, a door of the waste chute device to be opened; determining, using the hardware processor, a number of items and at least one type associated with the items that have been placed in an opening of the waste chute device; determining, using the hardware processor, that the door of the waste chute device has been closed; updating, using the hardware processor, information associated with the user based on the number of items and the at least one type of items that have been placed in the opening of the waste chute device; and providing, using the hardware processor, the user with the updated information.

EXTENSION DEVICE FOR REFUSE CONTAINERS

An extension device for a refuse container includes a pair of Y-shaped sides, each having a top end and a pair of spaced apart bottom ends. Two bumpers are positioned between the spaced apart bottom ends, and a device handle is positioned between the top ends of each side. A refuse handle capture assembly is positioned between the sides of the device and includes a pair of circular arms that are rotated by a central rod to transition between a locked and an unlocked position. Each of the arms include an opening for receiving and engaging the handle of a refuse container. When secured onto a refuse container, the bumpers engage the lid and back wall of the container and the device handle is positioned diagonally outward from the container to provide an adjustable mechanical advantage for allowing a user to tilt and move the refuse container.
