Dental prosthesis
A dental prosthesis is provided, manufactured from a one-piece or multi-piece prosthesis blank which is composed of a gum-colored material (14) and a tooth-colored material (14), especially each one being based on plastic material. The tooth-colored material (14) of the blank (10) has a diameter or a width of more than 5 cm and especially a substantially flat cylindrical shape with a diameter/height ratio of more than 2:1, preferably more than 3:1. The gum-colored and tooth-colored materials (14, 12) are bonded together by bonding, polymerization and/or integral production. The boundary (16) between the materials, as viewed in the direction of the dental arch course, is wave-shaped with alternating grooves and ribs (22, 24), and in the region of the anterior arch in the vestibular direction—is of radiant shape.
Ceramic bodies having antimicrobial properties and methods of making the same
A method for making a ceramic body comprised of a ceramic material having an inhibitory effect on bacterial growth is provided. A dental prosthesis may be made of a ceramic material that comprises a molybdenum-containing component on a portion of the prosthesis that contacts the gingival surface of a patient. In one method, a porous zirconia ceramic structure is shaped in the form of a dental prosthesis, and then infiltrated with a molybdenum-containing composition, before sintering to densify the ceramic structure.
Dental implant system with ceramic implant
A dental implant system with a ceramic implant and with an abutment, which moreover includes an insert element for the ceramic implant. The insert element is either manufactured from non-ceramic material or is manufactured essentially of injection molded ceramic. The insert element matches with a recess a proximal region of the ceramic implant and is inserted or insertable into the recess. The insert element serves for the fastening of the abutment and for this is equipped with fastening structures. The insert element, which is arranged in the recess of the ceramic implant, is connectable or connected to the ceramic implant by way of a frictional connection and/or positive connection with respect to axial traction.
Apparatus and method for a transalveolar dental implant
The present disclosure relates to single tooth or full arch dental restoration. In cases where patients have insufficient bone stock for conventional root-form dental implants, current solutions often fail to restore function. The present disclosure describes a transalveolar dental implant for single tooth or full arch dental restoration. The transalveolar dental implant is comprised of a post and a bone plate, the bone plate having a contoured portion fabricated to match the topography of a bony surface of the facial skeleton. Through primary fixation of the contoured portion of the bone plate, the transalveolar dental implant improves function and outcomes in affected patients.
IMPLANT
An implant to retain facial or dental prostheses includes a bone-engaging portion, a transmucosal portion, and an abutment portion. The bone-engaging portion of the implant includes a longitudinally extending distal portion formed of a conformal microscale cell structure and, optionally, a non-biological coating. The transmucosal portion includes a plurality of micro holes. The abutment portion of the implant may be polished to a mirrored or super-mirrored finish.
SURFACE-TREATED IMPLANT STRUCTURE
Provided is a surface-treated implant structure. The implant structure according to an aspect includes a fixture acting as an artificial tooth root, and the nano-protrusions included in the outer peripheral surface of the fixture exhibit a certain level of height, depth, and aspect ratio.
Universal aligning adaptor system and methods
A system for dental implant restoration is provided. It includes universal aligning adaptors and prosthetic components having co-operable indices, which together form a translational, integrating system which aligns, synchronizes, and references the prosthetic components about an implant's central axis of rotation. Rotation of an adaptor about a prosthetic component, with its reference point becoming aligned to a predetermined reference point on the prosthetic component, followed by the rotation of the adaptor/prosthetic component assembly about the implant, situates the prosthetic component in a predetermined position such that all other prosthetic components become synchronized to the adaptor's reference point. The prosthetic component is mechanical for clinical or lab bench use, or is virtual for restoration design in a software program, prior to milling prosthetic abutments or devices. Abutments, healing caps and screw access holes are realigned to preferred positions and synchronized with minimal deviation from the ideal direction.
Systems and methods for spray application of glaze and other materials
Disclosed herein are methods and systems for automatically spraying a glaze solution onto a dental prosthesis. The automated spray glazing system includes: a first spray gun; a controller, and a gripper configured to hold the dental prosthesis and to rotate the dental prosthesis about an axis. The controller is configured to rotate the gripper and spray a glaze solution from the first spray gun using a glazing profile based at least in part on a type of the dental prosthesis. The glazing profile is selected such that a cross-sectional thickness of a resulting-glazed material of the dental prosthesis has an average thickness range between 15 to 63 μm and a standard deviation of less than 6 μm when measured at locations in an upper half of the dental prosthesis.
TOOTH IMPLANTATION TECHNIQUE AND A SUBPERIOSTEAL IMPLANT MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR THE SOLUTION OF EXTREME ATROPHY OF A TOOTH BONE
A tooth implantation technique and a subperiosteal implant manufacturing method for the solution of extreme atrophy of a tooth bone are disclosed, primarily using steps of tomography, data transformation, software design, 3D printing of a physical model, making a subperiosteal implant wax form, wax form scanning and design, and manufacturing with a CNC milling machine, so as to make a subperiosteal implant that fits with a patient, thereby improving the shortcomings in a conventional manufacturing procedure of an implant.
Implant, implantation device, implantation method
An implant suitable for being anchored with the aid of mechanical vibration in an opening provided in bone tissue. The implant is compressible in the direction of a compression axis under local enlargement of a distance between a peripheral implant surface and the compression axis. The implant includes a coupling-in face which serves for coupling a compressing force and the mechanical vibrations into the implant, which coupling-in face is not parallel to the compression axis. The implant also includes a thermoplastic material which, in areas of the local distance enlargement, forms at least a part of the peripheral surface of the implant.
