Methods of designing and manufacturing customized dental prosthesis for periodontal or osseointegration and related systems
Methods of manufacturing dental prosthesis/implants each to replace a non-functional natural tooth positioned in a jawbone of a specific pre-identified patient are provided. An example method includes the steps of receiving imaging data such as x-ray image data and surface scan data of a dental anatomy and/or a physical impression of the dental anatomy of a specific preidentified patient. The steps can also include forming a three-dimensional virtual model of at least portions of a non-functional natural tooth positioned in the jawbone of the specific pre-identified patient based on the imaging and surface scan data, virtually designing a dental implant based upon the virtual model, exporting the data describing the designed dental implant to a manufacturing machine, and custom manufacturing the dental implant for the specific patient.
Drug delivery implants
An orthopedic implant includes an internal fixation device. The internal fixation device includes: an exterior surface; a threaded section including a reservoir and at least one threaded section channel fluidly communicating the reservoir with the exterior surface, each threaded section channel having an interior diameter and a length which is greater than the interior diameter; a head including a head channel fluidly communicating the reservoir with an exterior surface of the head, a channel diameter of the head channel being respectively larger than a largest interior diameter of each threaded section channel, the channel diameter of the head channel being the same as a large interior diameter of the reservoir; and a continuously tapering inner surface between the head channel and the reservoir.
Dental implant
A group of dental implants for the two-step implantation in the alveolar process is presented aiming to protect reliably the implantation area from ingress of the infection from the oral cavity due to the tight connection of the precervical side of the implant with the periodontal tissue. The set aim is achieved in the dental implant with the support to fix the dental prosthesis and the screw part for installation in the bone tissue, as well as with the ring head located between the dental prosthesis support and the screw part, made from the porous three-dimensional structure of the polymeric material and intended for ingrowth of the gum tissues, by means of the fact that the mentioned ring head is equipped with the reinforcing element made as a hollow body of revolution with apertures and located over the ring head.
Dental Implant Cover
A dental implant cover, constituted of: an elongated member extending from a first end to a second end, the elongated member arranged and dimension such that when the elongated member is fitted over a dental implant which is implanted into a patient bone, the first end of the elongated member covers an end of the dental implant and the second end of the elongated member extends towards the patient bone; and filler material deposited between the elongated member and the dental implant.
SCREWDRIVER AND SCREW FOR MEDICAL APPLICATIONS, IN PARTICULAR FOR DENTAL APPLICATIONS
A screwdriver for medical, in particular dental applications, is provided, the screwdriver (2, 2, 2) being configured to cooperate with a screw (1, 1), the screw (1, 1) having an apical end (11), a coronal end (10), a screw axis (S) and a first recess (14) at the coronal end for engagement with the screwdriver, the first recess (14) having a substantially polygonal inner contour in a radial plane that is perpendicular to the screw axis (S), the screwdriver (2, 2, 2) comprising a shaft (2) defining a longitudinal axis (D) of the screw driver, and an engagement portion (21, 21, 21) for engagement with the first recess (14) of the screw (1, 1), the engagement portion (21, 21, 21) having a substantially polygonal outer contour with corners (23, 23, 23) and outer surfaces (22, 22, 22) between the corners (23, 23, 23) wherein in a radial plane that is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (D), the outer surfaces (22, 22, 22) between two neighbouring corners (23, 23, 23) are curved radially outward.
Integrated Dental Implant Abutments
A dental abutment having a coronal portion for supporting a prosthesis separated from a post for seizing, galling or cold welding in a dental implant by a cylindrical portion and hemispheric base portion of length less than the combined length of the prosthetic head and locking taper post portions. The hemispherical portion of the abutment having a sloping shoulder with a surface that forms a small angle with a perpendicular to the cylindrical surface. A dental prosthesis system including such dental abutments.
Restoration dental implant and method
An implant fixture is disclosed. The implant fixture contains an elongated shaft section, and a head section, wherein the head section contains at least one concave area for bone growth therein.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF DENTAL IMPLANT AND INTERFACE TO ABUTMENT FOR RESTORATION
A dental assembly for vertical attachment of an implant to a dental abutment for restorative dental procedures is disclosed. The implant includes a cylindrical body having an interior bore formed between a distal end and a proximal end. An abutment interface is formed on the proximal end of the cylindrical body. The interface includes a radial annular interior surface and a flat annular stop surface circumferentially bordering the interior bore. The assembly also includes an abutment including a stem and a post coupled to the stem. An interior bore is formed through the stem and the post. The abutment includes an interface section between the post and the stem. The interface section may include an annular radially curved exterior surface proximate to the post. The radially curved exterior surface and the circular flat surface interfaces with the abutment interface of the dental implant.
Dental implant with cushion
An dental implant has a substantially cylindrical hollow base member; an abutment; an implant-abutment junction (IAJ) portion at one end of the base member to retain the abutment to the base member, so that the abutment is able to move within a predetermined distance alone an axial direction of the base member, and a first cushion adapted to be mounted between the abutment and the base member for providing a resistance force when the abutment is pressed to move relatively toward the base member and providing a bouncing back force when the abutment is released from the pressing.
Ceramic Bodies Having Antimicrobial Properties and Methods of Making the Same
A method for making a ceramic body comprised of a ceramic material having an inhibitory effect on bacterial growth is provided. A dental prosthesis may be made of a ceramic material that comprises a molybdenum-containing component on a portion of the prosthesis that contacts the gingival surface of a patient. In one method, a porous zirconia ceramic structure is shaped in the form of a dental prosthesis, and then infiltrated with a molybdenum-containing composition, before sintering to densify the ceramic structure.
