Orthopaedic or biologic support structure, methods of making and methods of use
A support for use with tissue or bone is described, the support having one or more spaced apart brace members, and at least one elongated linking member for linking to the one or more spaced apart brace members. The support may be provided in use in combination with a biologic glue, the biologic glue comprising a first portion containing stabilized blood product, and a second portion containing a growth factor, the first portion and the second portion comingled when or after the support is introduced to the tissue or bone in a subject in need thereof. The support is fabricated by actively producing the support through an additive manufacturing process, in which the support is customized specifically to the tissue or bone by creating a computer-generated construct of the support on a three-dimensional volume rendering of the tissue or bone, and the computer generated construct is interpretable via software directing the additive manufacturing process.

A method of producing a retention piece having a therapeutic package configured to provide a desired therapeutic profile for the recipient, the method including: obtaining data descriptive of mandibular and maxillary arches of the recipient; specifying an appropriate guidance package based on the desired therapeutic profile for the recipient; modeling a virtual representation of at least one retention piece configured to fit at least one of the mandibular and maxillary arches; and generating data that can be used by a computer aided machining (CAM) process to create at least one physical retention piece comprising the specified therapeutic package configured to provide the desired therapeutic profile.
Apparatus and Methods of Making Denture Devices
The present application describes an implant-supported denture device and a method for designing and manufacturing an implant-supported denture device for a patient. A method is described for designing a virtual denture and manufacturing an implant-supported functional fitting replica denture from the virtual denture. An apparatus comprising a functional fitting replica denture is prepared having denture teeth having a fit substantially similar to the final denture. The methods and apparatus described herein reduce the number of visits required to manufacture the final denture.
Temporary dental prosthesis for use in developing final dental prosthesis
A method of manufacturing a permanent prosthesis for attachment to a dental implant installed in a mouth of a patient includes scanning a patient specific temporary prosthesis (PSTP) to obtain scan data. The PSTP is attached to the dental implant in the mouth of the patient. Gingival tissue surrounding the PSTP is permitted to heal in the mouth of the patient. In response to aesthetics of the healed gingival tissue surrounding the PSTP in the mouth of the patient not being acceptable, the PSTP is physically modified by (i) removing material from the PSTP, (ii) adding material to the PSTP, or (iii) both. The modified PSTP is scanned and a permanent prosthesis is fabricated as a replica of the modified PSTP using scan data generated from the scan of the modified PSTP.

Methods and devices for countering gingival effects in dental restoration
A dental restoration system including a dental prosthesis having an occlusal body having defined therein a cavity and having an outer profile; and a dental abutment having a main body with a gingival part for anchoring to an implant and an occlusal part shaped to fit within the cavity to support cementation of the dental prosthesis, wherein the occlusal part of the main body has an outer profile radially closer to the longitudinal center axis than an outer profile of the gingival part at the interface between the occlusal part and the gingival part, thereby defining a shoulder between the occlusal part and the gingival part. The radial width of the outer profile of the dental prosthesis where it meets the shoulder is the same as or smaller than the radial width of the outer profile of the gingival part at the shoulder.

Denture reference and registration system
An improved denture system is disclosed. An improved denture system has a support bar and an artificial denture base. The denture base has an oversize cutout and a corresponding cavity and the support bar has a plurality of reference posts which mechanically interface with the corresponding cavity so that the support bar is connected to the artificial denture base and provides reinforcement and stability to the denture system. The shape and position of the reference posts fully constrains the support bar in a fixed position with reference to the denture base. In one embodiment, the denture base snap-fits onto the support bar.

A method of installing a dental prosthetic device includes securing a first guide member to an alveolar arch in a mouth of a patient. The first guide member is utilized to achieve a substantially planar bone surface along the alveolar arch. A second guide member is coupled with the first guide member. The second guide member is utilized to install one or more implants in the alveolar arch through substantially planar bone surface. A dental prosthetic is secured to the one or more implants. The dental prosthetic includes nanoceramic material.
